Most sitcoms aren't even funny. For instance, how did According to Jim ever get a reluctant chuckle, let along last till now?

BoT made me lol. It's hilarious absurdity played against Ted's conscience and romantic feelings for a coworker. Did you like Portia de Rossi in AD? She's put on a business suit and fine-tuned that act to a razor's edge. There's fine comic sensibility here, shown as much in the cinematography as by the script.

If you like off-beat comedy, this is the show for you!

According to Jim hit that peak purely because it rates with the low-renter guffawing dickwad crowd which makes up the majority of the world's populace. These are the same people who watched Everybody Loves Raymond, Dharma and Greg etc, it fills in that sitcom void...that easy to watch non-pretentious humour.
