I drive an '01 Seville SLS and they really get up and go. I've timed my best 0-60 at around 6.6 seconds, with my 0-90 around 13 seconds. Very impressive for such a big car, and even more so considering it's the SLS and not the STS. With my exhaust work, the car sounds beefy at low end too.

I'm pretty sure it would, and I'm not saying that just because I own the STS. Do you have the 4.9? If so, the 4.9 would get the jump off the line, but the STS would come back with the high-end power.

i do have the 4.9, and i agree about the high end power, ive also had the 4.5 but it wasnt really anything to brag about, ive never raced another caddy but ive never failed to burn out a ricer

Many have commented that the 92-97s are more aerodynamic than the 98-03, even though the 92-97s are a bit more "boxy." Essentially they have the same engine, the 300HP Northstar V8. Get a "Z" rated Cadillac and you have no speed limited and can take it up to whatever the speedometer says it can go. (Around 160 MPH)

my 97 eldo etc is governed at 152mph...says top speed reached, fuel cut-off or something like that.

Same thing with my '96 STS..i always have jappy crappy's at red lights trying to show me what they got, but i more often than not leave them behind in da dust...There's nothing like the feeling of pushin da pedal to the metal of an STS

the 300 hp northstar is great on highway races (lot's of power concealed), but off the line it's comparable to the sluggish marauder.

My '76 Caddy can still beat most imports (stock ones at least) of the line. But that's probably because it has `360 ft-lbs of torque at 2200 RPM and 190 HP at 3200 RPM. That basically gives it a great launch, but crappy top speed. But, a new intake, cam, headers and exhaust system bumps that up considerably. Still, it's pretty impressive to see a 5500# car leave as quick as mine does, even stock....

this just goes to show that just cuz a car looks sporty it doesnt mean its fast. its funny how all these kids in high school and colleges buy eclipses, cougars, svt focus, which are all slower than even an SLS, or a stock honda oddysey minivan, for example. some kids just have to look at more whats under the hood rather than whats over.

The new STS-V will do 0-60 in 4.7 sec run the 1/4 mile in 13.2 at 107.5 mph and has a electronically limited top speed of 155mph, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling^^
