and what you don't carter20081985 is how to spell dumb**.... and we could all stop this its horrible and we are murdering these living breathing things from God. :/
i am so glad this is going on what people don't know is that horses are very dum animals. Horse slaughter is great for making money and putting food on the table. I would like to see more horses slaughtered. we need to stop the terrorist groups called peta and alf from stopping us i live in american and we still slaughter horse to this day at my farm it is great and i love to eat the meat. animals don't have rights and never will the are ours to see fit thank god for the american dream
Congratulations you idiots. It's been passed. You've officially put the American horse industry in the gutter. You don't realize that 90,000 horses come off the tracks every year, and then there's the thousands of PMU mares and foals and wild horses that the land can't support that we're paying for. Horse slaughter is regulated by the USDA and it's humane in the US, not in Canada and Mexico, and that's where the horses are sent with people sneaking them across the border.
FYI.I pick up horses at the border and I find homes for them.I rescue hundreds a year like that. Before judging, check. I'm not the only one doing that.I myself have 26 american horses here that I pay for and I don't mind. Just be careful not to become in need of anything cause I don't know anyone who would be willing to rescue you. I would'nt. Nature's law is the only one.I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S BEHIND about your USDA Reg.Show me a HUMANE way to kill,is it the one u use to kill a human? U STUPID
Bullshit. 90,000 horses come of the track every year. With rising feed prices and a sinking economy there's no way people will choose to feed horses over their kids. Look at the facts whoever you are. Look at the horse abandonment rates over the last year, they've gone up. Look at local auctions and look at the prices of horses, they're down. So you have 26 horses. Good for you. Can you give them the medical care they need? Deworming, vaccinations. The costs add up. Common sense. Get over it.
What's the matter with you?? You just lost your job at a slautherhouse? As for the care of those animals, I am a vet and I dont charge anything to anyone who has rescued animals.. Here we have all the ressources to take care of them, there's not that much horses in this part of the country, and we surely have all the space needed for horses to be free and happy, I don't understand why in the world so many people criticize what I do. I'm starting now to really dislike the human race..more
If you can help horses and find them good homes good for you. But there's only so much you can do. As for the amount of space, people are part of the problem. There are simply too many people. True I would like to see more horses around, but you have to understand a lot of people don't see it that way. Horses are a means to an end to many and if you can't earn a profit they're not worth the care. Don't get me wrong, I love horses, but I lack the resources to help much. It's a matter of numbers.

Call, e-mail, and FAX your senators and congress. Support HR503 and S311.
Nice job. Let's show our congressmen and representatives who WE PUT IN OFFICE to represent OUR beliefs, that the vast majority of their constituents want this brutal act to end. I will never vote for anyone who does not vote to pass S.311/HR503.
We support our friends in America as they try so hard to save their horses from the barbarity of slaughter for the plate. The campaign has been long and arduous yet they will not give up or give in, we applaud their efforts and hope compassion wins through.
The majority of horses slaughtered by the foreign owned slaughter industry are young, healthy and not lame, according to US Dept of Agriculture documents. The vast majority of Americans want the butchering of our American horses to STOP!!!
You will speak for the horses who only have educated and caring citizens to protect them. Good luck in Washington, D.C.
we need to make this world wide!
