Tore the story apart and why would there be letters under the floorboards at Green Gables. An orphan suddenly with a wealthy family and her parents come back to life. The whole concept didn't make any sense at all. The acting and costuming were good it just didn't crack it with me. Megan Follows cannot be beaten in this role, and the original is the best. The sequels were great as well. The cast in the original was brilliant and cannot be made better. Don't break from perfection. Remakes- Naa

This is embarrassing and ridiculous. I am actually angry and offended. What in the world was Kevin Sullivan thinking?!!!! Why not turn RAINBOW VALLEY or RILLA of INGLESIDE into movies? This is tripe and has no basis in the book.

This looks like crap! The original series with Megan Follows was wonderful. The fourth installment where Anne and Gilert are older and caught up in WW1 is alright, but jumps to far from the books. There seems to be a slow decline in the quality of these Sullivan movies as he "fanfics" his own stuff and strays farther from the source material. Whats wrong with Anne's background as in the books? Whats so much "better" about a lieing Anne whose parents were not teachers? Others thoughts?

This is SO WRONG. It's like watching The Return to the Secret Garden. Plus this little girl playing Anne is far to over-dramatic then the dreamy whimiscalness of Megan Follows.

horrible, way too far from the book. Bad form Kevin Sullivan,booo. Maybe your lack of income from this movie will show you that you need to stick to the author's story line instead of putting your ideas into the plot.

It should have been Megan Follows which conyinue the role as Anne Shirley as the old on Green Gables and it will be okay the young played of Hannah Endicott-Douglass.She do it really well.

I agree. Megan Follows would be a nearly impossible act to follow. But this little girl is really good.

I don't like the story. Nothing like the books. It will probably be a dud because of that.

I've read this book (quite a pleasant read) but it seems to have nothing to do with a trailer. Mrs Thomas wasn't rich. Anne was an orphan. Oh well, I'll order this anyway and check it out. Barbara Hershey and Shirley Maclaine. Not a shabby cast.

I'm sure that when I have to chance, I will watch this movie even though I've read so much about it that is not good. And more than likely, I will agree with the way it's been handled. I don't understand why they couldn't have gotten Megan Follows? And why did they do what they did to Gilbert? The 3rd movie was good, but if you'd read the books you didn't like it for how they did it.

They should have cast Raelee Hill. She looks exactly like an older Anne. Beautiful red curls, delicate features and starry grey eyes.

what they really should do is redo anne 3 because it was no good and continue on through the books. It would be AWESOME to see anne's house of dreams, of ingleside, and rainbow valley done right!

@leahknits TOTALLY!! I totally agree. Why does the film industry make SUCH STUPID HORRIBLE decisions. Rainbow Valley and Rilla of Ingleside would probably do as well as the first two movies, if they do it right.

the details they made up for this film change anne's personality completely and for the worse. anne is now a lier and ashamed of her family. completely not the anne from the books or from the previous films. this is some other anne, not anne of green gables. it worries me that uninitiated people will see this movie and always associate it with the story.

Why can't these people stick to the words Montgomery wrote? It's a prequel, but it seems that they fiddled with major story details...apparently Anne's father isn't dead afterall? I'd rather they do Anne's House of Dreams and also re-do Gilbert & Anne's wedding which was poorly handled in the 3rd movie. The acting does look good though.

Hmmm...seems the real story by Lucy Maude Montgomery is fine as is. Why the need for a pre-quel that's not from the book? Something tells me the 'purists' won't like this one...but I guess I'll decide for myself if and when this movie is available in the US
