It's not ironic at all that the Jesus story is just an evolution of prior religions. It has been constantly undergoin evolution. If religion fails to come to terms and Evolve and Change, it is doomed to eventually fade into obscurity. All the stories are man made stories and unfortunately there is a whole lot of evidence to prove it.

There are volumes of research done on it and the ebb and flow of beliefs as far back as 3000 bce. As far as all the other religions of the Era, they were not made up in the 19th century as you suggest, They pre -existed the Bible and Christianity by hundreds to thousands of years. The story of Horus for example pre dates Christianity by 2500yrs, Krishna is about 1000yrs before Christianity, Mithra, 600yrs before, and the list keeps going, they're all nearly identical.

I think the whole Socialist Calculation problem that Mises talks about has more to do with centralized governments trying to plan an economy for everyone else without their input and individual knowledge/perspective. His arguments are sound in terms of government's role but IMO not too relevant to what the Zeitgeist movement is trying to (or I think is trying to do). Also, bear in mind, he wrote that pre-INTERNET and thus not much open sourced know-how. I'm assuming TZM is Apolitical.
