  • Seeing Jimmy Page hold up his guitar to "Where the Streets Have no Name" was a little odd to me.

  • Comment removed

  • Jack white fans= he brought back a clasic style rock guitar into a pop music dominated society

Page fans= Revolutionized guitar with flawless licks and made using pentatonic scales cool

The edge fans=huur duur duur duur edge duur efects duur

  • @berfnterf agreed.... good comment.

  • Sorry to dissapoint the U2 fans out there but the edge is nowhere near as cool or talented as these other two. He's all effects which takes talent yes but, theres just no comparison

  • @Kfarineau

Have you ever played on instrument? Have you ever played on electric guitar? So try to do it like Edge, I'm sure it will be a huge problem... Being a guitarist is also being a composer, musician, and the best way of playing music is to LISTEN and trying to join to the other instruments... Fast solos are hard to play but do they bring anything new?

  • @astronoomy I've played electric guitar as well as some other instruments in a symphonic band ( I'm not very good at the guitar i must admit). However it's obvious that you don't really listen to led zeppelin or any of the bands jack white was in. They were far more than fast solo's my friend. Sure the edge introduces new things, but as the modern music industry has shown, new isn't always better. Also jimmy page composed half of led zeppelins stuff, andwhite wrote the stripes music

  • @Kfarineau umm the edge is the 38th best guitarist to ever exist, im not saying jack is bad i love him but jack is 70th. sooooooo edge does not suck, and he came before white

  • @TheZeppelinfan100 exactly where are you getting these statistics? Also just because the edge came first doesnt make him better, I dont understand why you would think that

  • @Kfarineau rolling stone magazine

  • Comment removed

  • @TheZeppelinfan100 first of all rolling stone has a biased opinion ( as do you and I) so nothing they say should ever even begin to be taken as solid fact. 2nd of all on that same list they put jerry garcia behind the edge at 46 so in no way would i take that list seriously ( i mean really? cmon) and on another rolling stone list of top 100 guitarists by David fricke jack was put ahead at 17 while the edge was 24.

  • Hey guys, what's the song that starts at 00:57? Thank you so much in advance!

  • @111cogjix111 It's blue orchid by the white stripes. kickass tune.

  • @Kfarineau I found it. Thank you though. It's really really nice.

  • Tom Morello, Slash and Thurston Moore for It Might Get Loud 2

  • @KurtZeppelin12 eh,wouldn't anywhere near as awesome.

  • Playing a guitar while watching this movie is so much fun.

This movie is also like a date between Jack White and Jimmy Page, The Edge is just there watching awkwardly.

  • You know when Jack says "Who needs to buy a guitar"? well you need to buy an amp lol

  • Few can sing like rob plant. Jack is one of them.

  • That looks incrediblr

  • A Wizard, A Witch and A Robot jam for 2 hours.

    FUCKING YES SONNNNNNN

  • @xx2n23 woahwoahwoah.hold on there.emo fag?are you SERIOUS? i know what an emo is and he is not an emo.for goodness sake.

  • why do they make jack white look like some type of bad guy lol?? "I plan to trick them and steal all their tricks!!!! >:) MUAUAUAUA!"

  • ONE ICON ,TWO CLOWNS

  • @MrDlorean You're fucking stupid.

  • @mtzsphar94 you are just you

  • @mtzsphar94 PRATICE MORE PLEASE ..YOUR SOUND IS NOT THE BEST

  • @MrDlorean Who's who?

  • @dulebarca PAGE is the icon

  • @MrDlorean Ofc that page is the icon. I was testing you.

  • awesome film watched it 4 times... Jack White all day for me, awesome guitarists all but Jack is the man.

  • Even though I fell that Jimmy Page is the best guitarist of the three, Jack White is my favorite guitarist.

  • the edge is an architect of sound ... a genius (Jimmy Page)

  • You can't be serious by saying that The Edge isn't a great guitarist, with little talent. Sure, most of his playing is effects but my God what time and effort he puts down in to finding the right ones. And how he uses them, that's in a way that only a few does.

  • @xx2n23 actually, I think Jack White is really sexy and I'm not usually into really pale guys. Just another thing that makes him unique and sexy. He's a musical genius. Shut the fuck up, because YOU are the poser ;)

  • Cool great stuff man. Yes sir. it might get loud up in here.

  • @xx2n23 i agree with you for the edge and for jimmy page...not that he saved the movie but him, and jack white saved it. You are obviously not a guitar player...saying he needs a change of wardrobe and he needs to get a tan....Jack White is a great guitar player...and he has one of the best tones out there. He is a great blues player and has invented so many classic riffs.....you really need to rethink your position

  • @Rhysiscoolfull you need to chill i get your opinion but respectfully your wrong.....Jack White is not the 17th best guitarist in the world according to Rolling Stone magazine, the most popular and read music magazine out there for nothing....if you really don't see talent in Jack White than you are obviously not a good guitarist....i would kill for his talent and im sure any other guitarist would as well.....you really know nothing and are obviously more concerned on the looks rather than sound

  • @xx2n23

Jack white is amazing. stfu. he has more talent and soul in his pinky finger than you in your whole body

  • @xx2n23 Jack white needs a tan and a change or wardrobe, damn, you really are a muscian, arn't you? I realy thing that Jack White and other guitar players can learn a lot from you, myself included. Please, tell me what cloths to wear, so i can become a great muscician, i really need your help

  • I cannot believe I don't own this yet

  • What song does Jimmy's guitar solo come from (at the beginning of the movie)? I'm dying to find that in mp3 form.

  • when i first saw this trailer the first thing i said was "who the fuck is jack white?!?" now suddenly i own every white stripes album. go figure

  • I don't know why all you guys are crapping all over The Edge, I mean yes, he may not be the best guitar player in the world and he does use a lot of effects but to create that amazing, raw sound using an old SG and a few pedals is, in my opinion, amazing talent. But at the end of the day it's not even about talent, it's about the music, right?

  • Too loud for ONE person. This movie rocks!!!

  • People who don't know who Jimmy Page is are dead to me, Jack white is amazing and should get regognized

  • does anyone know the name of the song thats being played from 0:25 to 0:50 ?

  • @longhairdude0405 it's embryo no. 1 by jimmy page

  • whats the name of the song that starts playing at 1:30? its really bugging me

  • @DesertDiegel Where the Streets Have No Name by U2

  • @DesertDiegel Where The Streets Have No Name.

  • Personally I would have preferred Matt Bellamy rather than The Edge but either way this film definitely rocked! Jimmy Page is a phenomenal guitarist and jack white has more passion than any other musician I've ever seen!

  • Hi everybody! Does anyone know the title of the first music we can hear in the trailer (just after Jack White playing the string in his ranch)? For those who have seen the movie it's the music of the opening credits. Thanks a lot.

  • Funny thing about being a guitar player (any player?) You have to keep picking it up to see what you can do...what will come out of it. Seems like there are two approaches you can take. One is to get technical and theoretical (the rules of music).

The other way (probably the superior way) is to let yourself go and see what kind of music comes out. (of course, the "rules" will be in there somewhere). The film was only "so-so" but did show players finding their music through much perserverance.

  • is this on dvd yet i just heard of it and it looks fricken awesome, please msg me back with info, id really appreciate it thanks

  • @DesertDiegel a simple google search would have answered your question. The first result was that amazon has it on dvd. It's also currently playing on the movie network in Canada which is where I just saw it.

  • it might get loud - jimmy page tutors jack white and edge in guitar :P

  • I agree that the Edge initially seemed like a strange choice but he DID define a sound and U2 are an enormously successful group, influencing a lot of people. They could have asked Eddie Van Halen and numerous others but I actually thought the Edge was an interesting choice after watching the film. It's not just the proficiency on the guitar but the story behind their 'relationship' with it that is the key factor in this documentary. This may be lost on a lot of people though.

  • when the three of us get together, what`s gonna happen, probably a fist fight

    XD i love that quote!!!

  • When I heard about this movie and who was in it, I thought, "Alright! Jack White AND Jimmy Page!! Awesome! But The Edge? Really?"

    Really?

  • I LOVE this coz of Jack White and also Jimmy Page, but the edge...meh lol

  • "probably a fist fight"

    lmao love jack white

Jimmy Page is just fucking amazing

  • It's such a shame that incredible bands like Led Zeppelin and White Stripes have such ignorant morons for fans that they can't appreciate any guitarist who doesn't stand center stage and solo for 5 minutes straight.

"Z0mg teh U2 Hedge sucx, they shuld have got Buckethead!! y do he always ware a beany! his song iz so eesy to pley! watch dis!!!" *clank* *plang* *shonk*

  • @MirrorballMankind Actually i love zeppelin AND the white stripes and love a lot of songs that dont have 5 minute guitar solos. I love songs that dont even have guitar in them! so i guess that makes you the ignorant one......

  • U2 the edge??!?!? fuck that

i wouldve loved to seen ZZ tops Billy GIbbons!!!

  • @ugotpimp Billy Gibbons would have been awesome but the Edge is not all bad, hes got talent!

  • While watching the trailer and I heard Blue Orchid a huge smile came across my face.. I'm so watching this movie.

  • It looks like Jack White is Jimmy Page`s son and The Edge is the Cousin that you also let try to play the game.

  • @Hebertsfelden oh my god....it kinda fits o.O

  • I personally believe that all three of these men a legends. Obviously we can rank them in order of whose better, but I'm not going to do that. I already know my opinion will be different from everyone else.

  • This is my personal opinion

The Edge: some talent, but pretty much all effects.

Jack White: Raw Talent that has some quirks, but thats what makes it amazing.

Jimmy Page: Perfection, but in such an amazing and simple way.

  • @wheresmyphonebooth Do you play guitar? If you even strum just a little like I do, then you'd realize that The Edge couldn't do jack with the effects if he didn't have loads of talent.

  • @Nomadt72 yes, but that wud mean that he had talent using the effects & stuff, not actual talent using the guitar, Page cud probly do the same effects that The Edge does, with 1/2 the equipment he uses..and yes, The Edge does have gd music, i like U2 but he has more talent w/ the equipment than the actual guitar linked 2 it.

  • @wheresmyphonebooth

Page is undoubtedly the best of the bunch, but all three of them are standout musicians from their respective eras.

  • @wheresmyphonebooth i agree in the way you've rated them, but i think the edge is the way he uses the effects is awesome,

  • @wheresmyphonebooth you couldn't be more right :)

  • @wheresmyphonebooth what do you mean by all effects? Making music is all about producing effects, talent is knowing how to use it. As simple and cultural as that!

  • @wheresmyphonebooth - I just watched this DVD and have the exact same opinion. It looked like The Edge was in a state of shock when he was seeing what White & Page were doing.

  • @wheresmyphonebooth it is hard to do something with effects.

  • @wheresmyphonebooth La musique n'a rien d'une compet...

  • See? this movie would have been good if they hadn't put in the dumbass from u2. FUCK U2!!!!, stupid adult-midlife-crisis-music.

  • @uwukillnevertell Over 20 years ago when 'Where The Streets Have No Name' was released, I am guessing before or near the time you were conceived, people in U2 or listening to U2 weren't in mid-life. They were pretty much in full-on youthful angst and as ill-practiced at employing perspective as you seem to be now.

  • @eridink i really don't give a shit. U2 sucks, and their music sucks now, so it doesn't really matter, now does it?

  • @uwukillnevertell matters so little you had to comment on it.

  • who sed you need to by a guitar?

  • @SSanto98 Who says you need to buy a guitar* ;P

  • Ha, 0 dislikes! :D
