The second "verse" of the yngmym reprise, after the solo, runs through the same chord progression then, before pounding the G and back to Carry That Weight, or is it the chords you play in the other YNGMYM tutorial, where it goes to (I think) an F chord, then B, C#, Am?
@hazlettschool Yes, before you hit that G, the chord progressions are the same as in YNGMYM. At the lyric "and in the middle of the celebration" you play the FMaj7, then Bm7-flat5, then E7, then Am. Doing that from memory (I'm not in front of my piano right now), but I believe that's correct.
@aspinballer I think I'm actually playing G# - B - E there in place of the E - G# - E (which I played in the demonstration). I just played the inverted version of the chord, but it's still an E. Is that the part you're referring to?
When I play the chord that you do at 2:55-2:57 it sounds REALLY bad but I'm playing the same notes. That part is so hard. Man. hahaha. Also, I'm finding it hard to find a comfortable left hand pattern to use during the 'boy, we're gonna carry that weight' part. I can't work out why it sounds so bad for me and not for you, in regards to that three note chord on the left hand. Maybe it's because I haven't played it next to the the previous chord fluently? Can you help?
@jumpersmf You can play the A instead of the B in the RH there, although it makes it sound more like an FMaj7 than a Bm7-flat5. It's not a bad change, though.
You make the best tutorials by far, you make it easy to follow and it's so helpful! PLUS ITS BEATLES SONGS!! (I adore the Beatles) so I thank you highly for thesse wonderful tutorials :)
@pianojohn113 Well I am proud to say that as well on many other songs, I have memorized it!!!! :D Over the past few days, I have also learned "I Am The Walrus" and half of Billy Joel's "Lullaby"! Thank you! :D
Woohoo! I'm on my way working on the final three and when you got to the guitar solo after "I never give you my pillow" part, I just had to squeal!!! I can't wait to learn it and impress everyone!!! Thank you!! :D
This man has had a genius idea. The 'net' CAN be used for good and honest reasons. Look up 'altruism' and then realise what a selfless and wonderful thing this man is doing. Particularly if you want to learn piano AND play it like the Beatles did it. Hats off!
ive played guitar for 14 years now im starting to teach myself the piano, i cannot appreciate how FUN its actuall to play some musci you like off the bat with tutorials like these. thank you very much.
Thanks very much, I also really appreciate the way you reply to every comment. I think it's great to get a reply from a great teacher like yourself. Thanks!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. This is a perfect rendition of one of The Beatles' happiest songs, it just makes you want to sing along. Once again, John has created a piece of musical mastery to share with others/ Thanks for this, kepp up the magnificient work.
PS: I know you said you've closed your list, but I just thought of a song that would be great fun to play on piano: Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey.
I'm begging you please, please do some of The Band, this song is two chords, other than the "I never give you my pillow" part. How about some Rag Mama Rage, Tears of Rage, The Shape I'm In or Stage Fright.
best teacher you are ! greate!

At the end of the solo you teach an E-Ab-E, but then turn to play it as E-B-Gb.
A slip, or is that actually how you usually play it?

@jumpersmf In fact, I realised if, on the right, I play F/A/E instead of F/B/E it sounds a bit better, but kinda...less jazzy?
