When I was 18, I told my mother about this cool music I found by a man called David Sylvian. She could hardly believe what I had just told her. It had been many years since she had heard any of his music, as her records had gotten lost with time. In fact, the last time she really heard him was when she was pregnant with her first child, attending a live concert of this fine poet in 1988. I hardly think it's a coincidence that we now appreciate his beautiful music in much the same way.

apparently i've heard this song a hundred times throughout my childhood and stuff as my dad is a massive Sylvian fan but in recent months ive got into him and his Japan works myself and what can i say but ohhh wowww!! his voice is amazing. top notch stuff Dave you got me hooked! x

i love this song. the promo fits it perfectly. i like all of his promo videos and i like all the japan ones, too. i think this is one of my favourites, though, of his and also the promo for 'silver moon' is way up there, too. i also like the film loops his brother steve jansen did, which are found at the end of 'the occurrence of slope' DVD.

Really excellent song and video also.... very thought-inspiring... I appreciate how well the lyrics have been considered.... This just proves there is virtually no correlation between quality of work and media coverage.... but hey, what's new, VG never sold any paintings
