My headaches started when I was 14... recently I had aura and I was freaking out.. I thought I was going blind from 1 eye.. but then I spoke with a friend that is a doctor and explain to me what it was...
i've had headaches since i was 10yrs old it's almost an everyday thing. i've been to every doctors and no one has answers. and now i'm 25yrs old now that i'm older i seem to have it twice a day almost everyday. DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER?
I started getting abdonal migraines at 21 years of age then when i was 28 i had a coil fittted in my womb for birth control. As it contained a hormone it lowerd my migraines but then when i had it removed the migraines returned but i started getting Aura migraines which i prefurred i felt like i was tripping and it only lasted a few seconds the abdonal migraines lasted for days now these have come back, Any cures apart from codeine or paracetemol?
Im 16 and ive been getting headaches everyday for about a month now, they normally are around the same time of the day but recently ive been getting them in the morning. During the same time of these headaches ive been attending college and when i got my eyes tested the optician said that my eyes are straining because im focusing on the work im doing (which is all engineering)
Im not sure what type of headaches are, but its not my eyes, as they were tested fine, it normaly hurts inside my head?
Yeah, constant, although it varies in severity. I think diet could be a factor as well as bad posture straining muscles. It's tension headaches I have, not migraine. I switched to organic soya milk from dairy some time ago and that helped, the casein was possibly contracting the blood flow to the head. If the muscles in the scalp are tight blood flow is the issue, which probably means tension in the back and shoulders. Try using a tennis ball on the back/shoulders against a door.
It hurts when I elevate my height, hurts mostly just when I move, it's like torture. I was bound to have headaches with my bad history of health. But my headaches are just killing me. Then my stomach felt empty & was hurting. I ate, but that only helped for a few minutes. Then my throat started hurting, as if I we're to throw up, probably will. I should probably take something to stop it from hurting, but normally I don't take pills & such. Any advice on how to get it to stop hurting as much?
I've had 2 sided headaches that throb when walking up stairs & hurt like hell even though they say migraines are only 1 sided & hurt when going up stairs. I guess I have the strange 2 sided migraines who knows. I take Fioricet for it whenever it happens & it helps a lot.
Electro-sensitive people suffer from a variety of symptoms in close vicinity to electromagnetic fields, Wi-fi, mobiles, DECT phones, baby monitors, certain light sources etc: Headaches, Speech problems, dizziness, chest palpations, tinnitus, sweating at night. skin irritations, pins and needles in the hands in the mornings, short-term memory loss, nauseas, joint aches and pressures at the back of the head as well as in the sinus or forehead area.
Even if you are not ES, it is beneficial to turn off your Wifi over night, as well as to ban electrical items, your cordless phones and mobiles from your bedroom. You will sleep much better and are less likely to have an interrupted sleep pattern. Usually waking around 4 am.
Another simple test is to stop carrying your mobile on your body (chest or trouser pockets). in many cases people experience the so-called “phantom text messages”. This describes a situation where every now and then you think you had a text message, when keeping the phone in your pockets, but when you checked there was no message. Some even suffer from heart palpitations. If that is case, just try for a while to carry your mobile in a bag or switch it off, while you have it in your pocket.
Had nasal surgery in August 1996 but right nasal still gets more often sinus pain than the left nasal side. Sinus headaches bother me a lot more. Only headaches I get other than sinus are pimple or head acne infection pain triggered headaches. The acids and oils increase whenever I get hyper, nervous, stressed, angry, excited,or even when I feel too good. Crying hard or laughing hard can sometimes trigger my headaches.
Nausea and Vomiting used to be the side affects of the Headaches sometimes until the late 1980s. The only side affects from the Headaches now are bad Acne breaking out,Rash,Oily Skin,Etc. Skin after effects.
Have had both sinus and other headaches since the Summer of 1975. Never had them anytime on my life before that period. One thing I remember in the months before during the Spring was Fever,Throat & Earache Infection
My migraines are unusual in that they're usually in the back of my head rather than the front. But all the other symptoms, the flashing lights, etc are the same.
it disgusts me how over used the word "migraine" is. i have chronic migraines, i get aura and mine also affects my speech center, so i cannot see or talk correctly. when people use the word migraine incorrectly they dont understand how hurtful that can be, to me at least, because my migraines interfere with my life on a daily basis. i cant remember the last time i went to a concert or disneyland or anything fun for that matter without serious consequences. sorry for venting, bad mood/:
I get them from physical activity like pushups. I get pain on the left side of my head and my face starts tingling. I thought I was having a stroke. I went to the hospital twice in a month and after CT Scans and an MRI they said I've got migraines. I was relieved, but now I have to live with it. Bummer.
I have 10 years migraine. And what I recently discovered is that, it all hast to do with your eatbehavior. Dont stay hungry for about 15 hours. Hunger triggers the migraine. Always eat something in 3 or 4 hours. People who work mostly have problems with migraine in the weekends. When they sleep to long and dont reallise that they are having a migraine (by hunger). If you work, try to wake up early in the weekend and just eat something. Just prevent getting the hungerfeeling.
i've never had a headache in my life i wish i could just get a normal headache like most people.... i've always gotten extremely painful migraines that do not go away until i throw up its almost like a system when i get a migraine every time never fails it gets continually worse and worse until i vomit a few times then it seems to disappear almost instantly not sure if anyone else has this but its odd and its not fun ive never in my life had a "normal" headache
I have suffered with migraine's all my life.... I now take Magnesium Citrate daily... 200mg in the morning with breakfast, 200mg at night with dinner.... not had one FOR A YEAR !!! I HIGHLY recommend trying it
@dubibearock not sure how they work, read google migraine and magnesium... not sure about my liver... but its worth it not to have a mingraine !! they sell them at health stores so cant see a problem really
@dubibearock No idea if they effect your liver... I doubt it.... Not sure how they help, but they do... get a tub and try it... works for me... I hope it works for you too
I'ma having am igrane right now, and it sucks my non-existing balls.
My head aches seriously bad, I feel like I'm going to puke, and I couldn't see very well. My advice to others with this kind of migrane: Chug a can of coke or something caffinated, take some advil, and go lie down in bed for 30 minutes. It gets rid of the visual aura.
i've been having pain in my head every single day since 2006,thanks to it my life's gone to hell,at first my brain was still really active despite the pain now i feel that it died, like its not there anymore but i still feel pain,i often feel like im not really here and i just sit and watch it all go by me,my emotions have gone to hell also, all i can feel now is fear and hate and i dont like neither so i'm just kind of like a robot now,a really dumb and boring robot and i hate every second of it
I don't usually see an aura when mine come one. I have the yawning spells, that last from 1-3 minutes. And usually within 24-36 hrs, it's migraine city.
i think i get migraine auras with that flashy things. starts in the bottom left field view then works its way up the side and blocks most of the left vision field.also before i start getting the flashing sensation i lose the front part of my view. as in i couldnt read a book ide have to look away from it to see the words and lasts around 40 minutes to an hour. but its never followed by headache even before it start.does this sound like a migraine or something worse thats unrelated to a migraine?
man,... anyone complaining about a migrraine, like please stop actting like a little baby u don't know true pain until u've experienced stomach problems most ur life,.... lol a fucking migaine,.... grow up, and as far as showing any sempathly, for what, its a worser kind of headache, that's it, nothing more, and it's not like ur gonna have it for a long period of time, yea i'll feel alittle sorry if my friends had it, but im not gonna be on my god, ur hurting, grow up baby, try abdmenonal pains
Srsly, I have been getting them since I was 5,Im 16 now and the last one I had was just EXCRUCIATING,They're sometimes not so bad but this one was indescribable! It was so painful it woke me from my sleep, I threw up a few times and I swear too u lost about 40 percent of me vision, that was the first time I prayed for death because of one. It was pure hell.
i think a migraine ranks somewhere in the top five worst pains someone can experience. mabey not the most brutal pain you've ever had but pretty fucking excrutiating, not to mention lasting hours on end, sometimes DAYS...
I recently hd 2 rt canals through #3 and #5 gold 3 unit bridge, one acute process with advanced bone disease, TX prognosis is good but I hv had persistant headaches ...onset in the frontal, 10 hrs duration borderline incapacitated with nausea I went to the VA todayLOL. Im told the dental did it ,hard to believe, the trigeminal nerve has nothing to do with the frontal any help??
yesterday I kept seeing this black wavy thing and it was really messing up my vision in my left eye and I didn't know why I was seeing it or what it was and it frightened me. It must have been the Aura because now I have a bad headache on one side and the other symptoms he listed for a migrane and I have had it almost 24 hours. I thought it was funny aleve didn't work. Does anyone know how to get rid of these things if u dont have insurence.
I only get Migraines during the fall for a couple of weeks however, when I do get them, can't do anything. I get them usually around the same time everyday and in the same spot (behind my right eye). They are so awful. All I can do is just lay down and pray to God that they go away. Sometimes, they hurt so bad that throw up, but they go away when I do that so I try to make myself throw up at times (doesn't work though). Migraines are horrible horrible things.
Is it a migrane, if I have a headache for more than a day? It is durable, but if I, say, ride a bicycle, every little bump on the road would go into amplifying the headaches. I can't move when I have that.
The problem is: I don't know what a different headache is. I just have these strong ones, where I am not able to really move much.
i have headaches all the time every day. i'm seeing a neurologist and now i have to take two pills at 6:00 p.m. i was put on the migraine diet, but it didn't help.
I am so sick and tired of having these migraine headaches,i dont kno wat to do! They have ruined my life,i wasnt able to finish highschool, and i can't hold down a job because of the recurrent headaches that i get weekly!
Thank god i don't get them anymore. When i was a kid i used to get headaches a lot and migraines almost as often. When i had a migraine, my visual thingy was tunnel vision. I could only see what i was staring directly at. Everything else was black. As if i were standing in a pitch black room with a little flashlight pointing at what i was looking at. I remember i got one during a baseball game i was playing in. Coach wouldn't believe me. I missed a pop fly and everyone got mad. I puked.
everytime i start moving around or just even walking down the stairs i get a major headache and it wont go away for awhile i dont know what kind of headache it is but it hurts like crap someone help me im in major PAIN!!
i get migraines but they are caused by a throbbing pinch on my upper neck, usually left side. this follows by a painful pressure in my eye of the same side, that can lead to nausea. standing in the shower as hot i can stand it spaying on the tense side usually helps relieve it but lately even that hasn't helped. this pinch usually happens if i am sitting in a position for to long. any advise?
I am getting migraines the last two weeks, I'm taking some Paramol tabs, what a relief, I can only feel it slightly now and the throbbing has ceased, a wisdom tooth has broken prior to these migraines, oh boy I sure do hate migraines!
I usually go partly blind in one or both eyes right before I get a migraine. If I vomit I feel 100% better but I never try to do that. I just get some pills, a monster energy drink and a bottle of water for afterwards and that will almost always cure the migraine.
I find it interesting that you say it gets better after you vomit, and I have heard others say that. Leads me to believe there is some specific ingrediant, however small, that causes these migranes. It's so hard to tell because there are so many things in everything we eat these days. Seems like some people are more sensitive than others to some certain items in food. Not sure, I could be wrong, sounds interesting though.
Just recently, I have had two migraines. Both times seemed to have been triggered after eating cashew peanuts with sea salt. I'm wondering if it's because I'm allergic in some way to the peanuts. I dare not try to find out by eating any more...
Thats sounds terrible. The hardest part is identifying the certain item if in fact there are certain ingrediants in foods triggering these migraines. There are so many things in foods these days like chemicals and preservatives that we don't even know we're ingesting. Who knows, maybe it's just the cashews, the salt, or maybe nothing to do with it at all. It just seems odd that while reading all alot of comments on here that food and vomitting kept coming up. Cashews are so good too! Bummer
heavenlydismay, i beleive the reason for the headache getting cured almost always after drinking an energy drink is because it contains a large amount of caffeine and the reason you get those headaches most likely comes from caffeine withdrawl if you tend to drink those often, and then you just stop for a day or two.
The only time I ever have an energy drink is to get rid of a headache. I drink only water, gatorade and juice. Rules out caffeine withdrawl. I'm convinced now that they're caused from nuts. Cashews to be exact.
migraines can also be triggered by what you eat and how you eat...i sometimes get migraines if i drink coffee...almost always get migraines when i accidentaly swallow food without chewing...best way to prevent migraines is to drink lots of cold water everyday...best way to get rid of migraines, at least for me, is to put your fingers inside your mouth and throw up everything you ate before...i feel so much better afterwards
Anyway the only treatment I can get myself and that works is ibuprofen, aspirin, paracetamol etc. Don't think it's healthy but it's the only way out. Relaxation works only with pills. I've changed diet, used to do regular physical exercises, used to take anti-stress pills and nothing of it really works for me. I even quit smoking because of headaches (which is a good thing I suppose). I wonder if someday headaches/migraine will be permanently curable.
i think i had this when i was 14 years old. i can visualize something small move in circle very fast then it goes bigger n bigger and lots of sparks on the side. it was a pain.
this is helpful. I just have nonstop headaches, and not migraines. I don't have problems with light and sound under pain. I just wish my tylenol would work.
what about if parts of ur body go numb or feel like they fell asleep? would that be toward migrane or tension?? cuz i always get that aura which makes it impossible to read stuff, and right now i have a migrane..the aura is gone..but my left hand, left upper lip and left nostril is all numb...wtf am i dying or something o.o?
I have a milder form of migraine ( compared to the rest of my family), but I have experienced numbness around the mouth maybe 2 or 3 times. Plus, I almost always drool a little bit on the left side before and during the headache. So, I assume it is just one of the things associated with migraine ( nerves around the mouth going offline ).
I'd prefer to have my migraines at the back of my head. Atleast then I could perhaps concentrate on something maybe even be able to work for a while without the migraine interfeering with my daily life so much. Right now the only thing that helps is sleep. I take medication with helps the pain but its so strong that I get extremely drowsy so much so that I'm even more debilitated because of the drowsiness than from the migraine.
So for functionality I just have to live with the pain. ~_~
The only way I could get rid of it is to somehow try and fall asleep, often waking up several hours later with an ecstatic feeling that its gone. My advice to people who suffer from bad migraines is as soon as you feel it building up, immediately lie down in a quiet dark room and attempt to sleep. I often put a cold wet facecloth over my head - this helps immeasurably. Doing anything at all will simply make it worse.
I've had problems with headaches since I was young when I would periodically get migraines. I have also been through a period of tension headaches for several months. In my experience tension headaches are much less severe than migraines. Like the guy below said, bad migraines can make you feel like u were dead. The pain is utterly terrible often accompanied by lots of nausea and I used to cry from it.
I get migraine headaches from time to time. One time when I was 16, I suffering from a really bad migraine. Their was crying involved. About 4 years ago I had a migraine with an aura. Scared the shit out of me, I thought I had a brain tumor or something. lol
I have headeaches almoust monthly :-( and they use to keep me away from society at the begining - 1 day...now the crysis is around 2-3 days !!! I thought that is higher blood pressure, but it isn't. I can't eat nothing, can't think, drive, work, sing(that's my job), walk, or sit. Just in bed,sleepy...with some tea or water. It's a damm sickness. The problem is that nobody understands me how I feel, even my parents suspected that I'm faking.
people always play down migraine patients and do not show enough empathy. migraine can be so debilitating that sometimes you really prefer if you were just dead. i usually get attacks once or twice a year , an attack lasts 4-5-6 hours, so i am from the lucky ones, i get with aura and diarrhea and nausea. but, my migraines are caused by extreme moods (depression and serious hopelessness), if i keep my morale up, and control my anger, i beat it.
@fokojan I get them every couple days and they last around the same time. How do you control your emotions, because I think that's why I'm getting them too?
I have a headache that has symptoms of both the Migraine and Tension headache... from the list given here. I wonder what it is. My headache is often the frontal area behind one of the eyes (the pain is in both area but most sharp behind one of the eyes). My head trhobs and it gets worse if I continue to work... if that happens, I will feel nauseated and dizzy. Usually when it occurs, it won't go away until I sleep it away. Now what do I have? Thanks!
My headaches started when I was 14... recently I had aura and I was freaking out.. I thought I was going blind from 1 eye.. but then I spoke with a friend that is a doctor and explain to me what it was...

yesterday I kept seeing this black wavy thing and it was really messing up my vision in my left eye and I didn't know why I was seeing it or what it was and it frightened me. It must have been the Aura because now I have a bad headache on one side and the other symptoms he listed for a migrane and I have had it almost 24 hours. I thought it was funny aleve didn't work. Does anyone know how to get rid of these things if u dont have insurence.
lisababy85 1 year ago
I only get Migraines during the fall for a couple of weeks however, when I do get them, can't do anything. I get them usually around the same time everyday and in the same spot (behind my right eye). They are so awful. All I can do is just lay down and pray to God that they go away. Sometimes, they hurt so bad that throw up, but they go away when I do that so I try to make myself throw up at times (doesn't work though). Migraines are horrible horrible things.

Ok what is the difference between migraine and cluster headaches
meISnotAcommie 1 year ago
Is it a migrane, if I have a headache for more than a day? It is durable, but if I, say, ride a bicycle, every little bump on the road would go into amplifying the headaches. I can't move when I have that.
The problem is: I don't know what a different headache is. I just have these strong ones, where I am not able to really move much.
JohnWelsch 1 year ago
I have chronic tension headaches, sometimes it becomes a migraine. It's useful to know the difference to look at how to treat it.

I puked.

i get migraines but they are caused by a throbbing pinch on my upper neck, usually left side. this follows by a painful pressure in my eye of the same side, that can lead to nausea. standing in the shower as hot i can stand it spaying on the tense side usually helps relieve it but lately even that hasn't helped. this pinch usually happens if i am sitting in a position for to long. any advise?

I am getting migraines the last two weeks, I'm taking some Paramol tabs, what a relief, I can only feel it slightly now and the throbbing has ceased, a wisdom tooth has broken prior to these migraines, oh boy I sure do hate migraines!
javonoUTube 2 years ago
I usually go partly blind in one or both eyes right before I get a migraine. If I vomit I feel 100% better but I never try to do that. I just get some pills, a monster energy drink and a bottle of water for afterwards and that will almost always cure the migraine.
HeavenlyDismay 2 years ago
I find it interesting that you say it gets better after you vomit, and I have heard others say that. Leads me to believe there is some specific ingrediant, however small, that causes these migranes. It's so hard to tell because there are so many things in everything we eat these days. Seems like some people are more sensitive than others to some certain items in food. Not sure, I could be wrong, sounds interesting though.
fkthsh 2 years ago
Just recently, I have had two migraines. Both times seemed to have been triggered after eating cashew peanuts with sea salt. I'm wondering if it's because I'm allergic in some way to the peanuts. I dare not try to find out by eating any more...
HeavenlyDismay 2 years ago
Thats sounds terrible. The hardest part is identifying the certain item if in fact there are certain ingrediants in foods triggering these migraines. There are so many things in foods these days like chemicals and preservatives that we don't even know we're ingesting. Who knows, maybe it's just the cashews, the salt, or maybe nothing to do with it at all. It just seems odd that while reading all alot of comments on here that food and vomitting kept coming up. Cashews are so good too! Bummer
fkthsh 2 years ago
heavenlydismay, i beleive the reason for the headache getting cured almost always after drinking an energy drink is because it contains a large amount of caffeine and the reason you get those headaches most likely comes from caffeine withdrawl if you tend to drink those often, and then you just stop for a day or two.
Joshcomicguy 2 years ago
The only time I ever have an energy drink is to get rid of a headache. I drink only water, gatorade and juice. Rules out caffeine withdrawl. I'm convinced now that they're caused from nuts. Cashews to be exact.
HeavenlyDismay 2 years ago
The salt is also a diuretic, and it may be dehydrating you... dunno, it's a thought.
killchain187 2 years ago
migraines can also be triggered by what you eat and how you eat...i sometimes get migraines if i drink coffee...almost always get migraines when i accidentaly swallow food without chewing...best way to prevent migraines is to drink lots of cold water everyday...best way to get rid of migraines, at least for me, is to put your fingers inside your mouth and throw up everything you ate before...i feel so much better afterwards
KKANGPAE 2 years ago
Anyway the only treatment I can get myself and that works is ibuprofen, aspirin, paracetamol etc. Don't think it's healthy but it's the only way out. Relaxation works only with pills. I've changed diet, used to do regular physical exercises, used to take anti-stress pills and nothing of it really works for me. I even quit smoking because of headaches (which is a good thing I suppose). I wonder if someday headaches/migraine will be permanently curable.

what about if parts of ur body go numb or feel like they fell asleep? would that be toward migrane or tension?? cuz i always get that aura which makes it impossible to read stuff, and right now i have a migrane..the aura is gone..but my left hand, left upper lip and left nostril is all numb...wtf am i dying or something o.o?
xFlyswatterx 3 years ago
I have a milder form of migraine ( compared to the rest of my family), but I have experienced numbness around the mouth maybe 2 or 3 times. Plus, I almost always drool a little bit on the left side before and during the headache. So, I assume it is just one of the things associated with migraine ( nerves around the mouth going offline ).

I get tension headaches at the back of my head, in my neck, and in my temples. At least I think its a tension headache.
GTVolition 3 years ago
I'd prefer to have my migraines at the back of my head. Atleast then I could perhaps concentrate on something maybe even be able to work for a while without the migraine interfeering with my daily life so much. Right now the only thing that helps is sleep. I take medication with helps the pain but its so strong that I get extremely drowsy so much so that I'm even more debilitated because of the drowsiness than from the migraine.
So for functionality I just have to live with the pain. ~_~

JustinSmale 3 years ago
that popping sound sounds as if there is something loose inside your head! lol check with your doctor
RAF7430 2 years ago
The only way I could get rid of it is to somehow try and fall asleep, often waking up several hours later with an ecstatic feeling that its gone. My advice to people who suffer from bad migraines is as soon as you feel it building up, immediately lie down in a quiet dark room and attempt to sleep. I often put a cold wet facecloth over my head - this helps immeasurably. Doing anything at all will simply make it worse.
lozza925 3 years ago
I've had problems with headaches since I was young when I would periodically get migraines. I have also been through a period of tension headaches for several months. In my experience tension headaches are much less severe than migraines. Like the guy below said, bad migraines can make you feel like u were dead. The pain is utterly terrible often accompanied by lots of nausea and I used to cry from it.
lozza925 3 years ago

The problem is that nobody understands me how I feel, even my parents suspected that I'm faking.
ramo18tm 3 years ago
people always play down migraine patients and do not show enough empathy. migraine can be so debilitating that sometimes you really prefer if you were just dead. i usually get attacks once or twice a year , an attack lasts 4-5-6 hours, so i am from the lucky ones, i get with aura and diarrhea and nausea. but, my migraines are caused by extreme moods (depression and serious hopelessness), if i keep my morale up, and control my anger, i beat it.

Thanks!
