wat is the different between answer, reply and response?

I´m from germany and all three words meen the same in german.

answer  = Antwort

reply = Antwort

response = Antwort

I´m confused.

oh thx hetyke1, I´ve looked in a englishbook and found there this sentence. For example:

saying "answer a person, a question, a letter" without "to" but "reply to a letter".

all of them are synonyms so answer=reply=response

first of all you have to say difference (noun)in stead of different(verb)

I will give examples of each wards:

reply/She asked him how old he was but he didn't reply.

response/She's applied for admission and is still waiting for a response from the school.

answer/1)If you are asking me if I want to go into business with you, the answer is no.

2)I called several times, but there was no answer.
