Thank you,And yes, We Loved one another at the time, And I still do and I guess that will allway's be the mark of an idiot, Thank you!! For ever, for the life you gave me.
LRB is one of the few bands that every song they recorded was good. Not like some more popular bands that have a "HIT" song a a bunch of filler songs on the LP.
Just great music that has lasted the test of time. Peace
Ahhh...the days when being a singer required the ability to sing! Little River Band is playing a free concert here in Dodge City KS tonight. I won't get to go because I have to work but I am sure it will be a good time!
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I remember I won this album on the radio... It was the first album I ever owned! I played it until the needle on my record player wore down to a nub and the record was so worn that it wouldn't play any longer! LOL Those were the days... Thank God we made it through!
there is no comparison to then and now people. this youngest generation of "so-called" musicians already know that. Why do you think there are so many "remakes" of our music? because WE used it all upand didn't bother to share!!!!!!!!!!!!! lolololololololololololol
Down--but not OUT-----the Bible says, "God sets the lonely in families." Sometimes [or most of the time] it's better NOT to run with the crowd. Wide is the gate that leads to Destruction---seek the Narrow Way---
I wish someone could upload the original "Happy Anniversary" by Little River Band. I have been looking for a long time and all I find are the "live" versions.
Everytime I listen to another an Oldie there seems to be another in the list next to the song I'm listening too, Great music, great era.........the 70's Wish these bands were still around. Todays music is crap conpared to the 70's thanks for the memories!
exactly... singers today dont have shit on songs like this... or even the bands who sing them... like little river band, fleetwood mac, CCR, all of them....they can never be beaten, never be replicated... singers shuddnt even try to remake old songs...it still wuddnt b as good...
OMG...i remember going to see LRB live at the Meyer Music Bowl... i was about 14 and it was my first concert...there is not much these days that even compares...brings back so many good memories....
Glenn Shorrock, Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles were the heart of this band when they first started, and in my humble opinion, which doesn't mean much, were the best trio that ever was, other than the Bee Gee's. Nothing can convince me to say otherwise. These guys are and always will be to me the best harmonizing band that ever was...listen to "It's a Long Way There" and you will be blown away by their ability to meld together like gold....simply put..beautiful vocals!
I so much prefer the music of yesteryear, my growing up years. You could understand the words they were saying. There was no screaming lyrics. These songs, such as this one, are absolutely timeless classics. Today's music can't hang with it on it's best days.
you can't generalize all modern day bands into crap, look at susan tedeschi, big bad voodoo daddy, robert randolph & the family band, or muse. A lot of bands have amazing musicians within them
The singers of today should take advantage of these classics and see if they could even keep up with them. Great musicians and singers from the 70's. My growing up era. Love 'em. Thank you so much for the memories.
@tjerwin1 I grew up in this era as well, but loved the 80's more. I think that is because I never really bought in to the disco era. Either way, good music and good songs are good no matter when or where you hear them...LRB were great in their day...
Love this song, And i miss the rock bands that implmented great vocal harmony, great rock music, that spoke to the common man. these guys remind me of the eagles alot!
What happened with today? poor videos, poor music and recording techniques that just make any crap sound glossy. These guys are just the best. memorable sounds written by people that cared about music.
That's the original line up, but not the one on this song. George McArdle had replaced Roger M on bass, while Formosa had ben replaced by David Briggs. Otherwise, the guys are the same.
this song explains my life right now.

All of those guys are listed on the National

was Derek's boyfriend.
Remember the drunken fight that Glenn
and Graham had with Ric at the Sidecar
Little Italy Gay Bar, that almost got them
thrown out of the US! Nothing good ever
happens in a gay bar, when you come in
with only your jockstrap!
