  • Was there and earlier recording of this song? Because the official release was this year.

  • @Freezaen

Yeah, couldn't wait for the release :P

  • Ur guitar is carvin???

  • @choloconcha

    Correct.

  • wtf who scriiming in background??

  • @MultiEchelon That would be the vocals..

  • @MyEggIsBoiled Yes, but it is other part a cover vocalist...

    who it?

  • @MultiEchelon Well it is the demo version of the song. Look at the date. This was put on here almost three years ago and the album was just released in like March or April.

  • @MyEggIsBoiled ahh,ok i understand...I didn't listen to a demo version

  • @MultiEchelon No, THIS is the demo version, like years before the album version was released.

  • whats the top pickup your using?

  • @xXiN5aNeXx

    Top? As in neck? Q-tuner.

  • TesseracT= 4th dimension

  • I wish I was a rich kid LOL

  • @mizsigzLLR

Me too, so I could pay back the loan I have on the stuff.

  • @cataclysmichael Shit must be worth the loan. I just picked up a Custom Native American Flute for $1,800. I was very lucky though that someone ended up making a generous donation to help pay for that. If I had to take out anymore loans I would be fucked. Especially since I have loans for my Masters Degree.

  • @sabrefang0

Especially now that it's all paid back in later this month :)

  • @cataclysmichael Nice how much did you end up taking out?

  • @sabrefang0

    A lot :P

  • @cataclysmichael That's a fair amount >_>

  • Are those Q-tuner pups?

  • @AngstRiddenDreams

The one in the neck is.

  • @cataclysmichael Bridge?

  • @AngstRiddenDreams

    dimarzio x2n

  • Just make your one man army bands dawg.

  • You play drums and guitar?

  • @WhirlWindWabbit

    Did you watch the video?

  • @cataclysmichael Nope. I was at work; I just listened to it. Only saw the country flags now :) Awesome work none the less. You've both got a huge amount of talent.

  • dude, covers? Lotta work put into it. You do it sick but lets hear your original stuff... Check out Tre Watson too- sick djent guitarist.

  • I love your guitar so much! Great playing too!

  • @Hybrid138

Thanks man. I'll upload a new video with it this weekend, if I get the video done :)

  • I FUCKING LOVE YOU

  • @FreeByrd007

koa neck with maple stripes, swamp ash wings, quilted maple top, birdseye maple fretboard :)

  • Alot of their material reminds me of Quake lol. or Unreal Tournament

  • wats the pink stuff on your pickups?

  • @urinalcakesaretasty

    That's the pickup. A q-tuner.

  • @cataclysmichael cool thanks, which model? would you recommend it? whats the x2n like? cheers

  • @urinalcakesaretasty

High-Z. I think it's a cool pickup, very clean sounding.

The X2N is great. Very powerful, it was a bit too powerful compared to the q-tuner though, very different volume when I switched pickup. Now I've swapped it for something with a little lower output, a bare knuckle painkiller. suits the q-tuner and the guitar better I think. Doesn't look as cool though :P

  • Hy man... grate videos on your channel!! :)

I wonder... what program did you use for video editing??

  • @maviddicic

Thank you. I use final cut for editing. Have also used sony vegas in my older videos..

  • Hey mate, From what I can see, it looks as though you are playing in G# (G#,C#, F#, B, E, G#, C#), although I always thought Tesseract played in Drop G#, half a step down with the low B string dropped down to G#. Am I right or do Tesseract use some funky-assed textures for their rhythms?

  • @metalgtrfreak

I learn stuff by ear, so I just tune to whatever, hehe.

  • @cataclysmichael Ah, very nice. haha. And a gorgeous Carvin, I might add. :D

  • @TheFpb2

    I don't remember. It's some time ago now :P

  • @TheFpb2

    Me too =)

  • Great instrumental use, cheers.

  • who's the drummer? Is that you? :O

Mega talented, and mega loaded! Look at your guitar rack! With an ENGL Invader! D:

  • @kilyatwice

I think the video is pretty clear on who's playing what :P

  • @cataclysmichael the description only talks about the HQ! I don't know! :(

  • @kilyatwice

    Try watching the video ;)

  • beutifull

  • Amazing

  • Amazing mix, performance and talent, man. Great job.

  • @winterchill885

Dimarzio x2n in the bridge and q-tuner in the neck.

  • what rig is used to get that tone? friggin' killer!

  • @asabatino1980

    Carvin 727 -> Axe-fx -> BBE Sonic Maximizer -> Marshall el84 -> genz benz g-flex

  • great job.

i love that guitar, is it the same one when u played icarus lives? what brand is that?

    vi ses

  • @mattwildchild

It's the same yes. Carvin DC727.

  • @cataclysmichael

    ok thanks. looks awesome.

  • How does the neck on your Carvin compare to other 7 strings you've played, like and Ibanez or Schecter??? As far as width, thickness, smoothness, easy of playing, ect.

  • @666micks666maggot666

I´ve never played Schecter, but it´s thicker than the ibanez neck. Personally I think it´s perfect, the ibanez necks are too thin for me. With a tung oil finish on the back of the neck it´s smooooooth. I love how the neck feels. I don´t know if this is a fact, but the thicker neck seems to add to the tone too. Sounds fuller then any ibanez I´ve owned.. I highly recommend Carvins :)

  • @cataclysmichael

Thicker neck also has tighter strings and yes more tone especially since you only used tung oil on it, and not polyurethane

  • @KreatorOfDeath1985

Tighter strings? I don't know about that. Doesn't that has to do more with the scale length? Definitely have more tone though!

  • awesome gear :O and song ;)

  • Comment removed

  • isn't that a 4 dimensional cube at the beginning?

  • @SamCocknose

    It´s a tesseract :P

  • yeah....i thing is designed by Tesseract

  • @SamCocknose Yeah it's called a Tesseract, go figure...lol.

  • @SamCocknose more of a shadow of 4d, its a cube rotating in 4d if you get me.

  • @SamCocknose yes and no :P. its basically the shadow of a 4dimensional cube in 3d space :P

  • @SamCocknose 15 sided 4 dimensional hypercube indeed.

  • @SamCocknose another name for it is a tesseract... things making more sense now?

  • @SamCocknose Yeah it's called a...you guessed it, a Tesseract lol.

  • @SamCocknose 4 dimensional cube? wtf are you talking about. cubes are by definition 3 dimensional. there's nothing 4 dimensional about the tesseract.

  • @paucceri Tesseract is a hyper cube .. an object in 4 dimensional space

  • @Octavarium666xyz space is three dimensional. the fourth dimension is TIME. the tesseract is a perfectly normal 3D shape. i know you must love the idea of a 4-dimensional object, but please, drop it and go read a book

  • @paucceri 4th dimension isn't time, it's an old view .. timespace now stands for the expresion of time enxwikipediaxorg/wiki/Four-dimensional_space (x= .) what we can see here is just an shadow of 4D object

  • @SamCocknose

4th dimension is time. I believe that cube is called a tesseract

  • @SamCocknose its a tesseract :)

  • are you the one drumming in this?

  • It´s creamer88. I suck, REALLY suck at playing drums, haha.

  • dude, i'm a bit jealous of your instruments, playing, and editing skills :D your videos are amazing.

  • Thanks man :)

  • yeah...he really have nice beautifull guitars

  • Do you use Axe FX as a pre connected to the Marshall El84?

  • That´s correct.

  • So, it's more important a Tube Poweramp over a Tube Preamp. I mean:

It sounds better a Vox Tonelab plugged to a Marshall El84 than a Marshall Pre plugged into a Shitty Peavey solid state amp.

What do you think about this?

  • Definitely the preamp. That mainly what makes the sound you know. I can recommend the marshall jmp-1 btw ;) Or even better, the axe :P

  • That's what I was saying, using AXE + Tube Power amp is better than using Tube Preamp + Shitty Transistor Poweramp. I think it's stupid buying a tube Preamp to plug it in a $100 solid state amp.

  • I would rather put my money in the pre than the the poweramp. As I said, that´s what makes the sound, the poweramp only converts the preamp signal into a high power signal to drive the speakers.

  • damn you got q-tuners ... how are they? ... i`d be very glad if you could post a sound demo with clean overdrive and distortion ... and by the way ... the song is awesome !!!! :D greets

    your fan from germany :D

  • It´s a cool pickup. In the end you hear the q-tuner only.

  • what is the tuning ??

  • Half step down from standard 7-string tuning.

  • ur guitar and kit are so dope bro!

  • lovin ur drum kit man, any chance its for sale? ha ha

  • You have to ask the drummer about that. ´creamer88´is his username :)

  • i hate you, your guitars are too nice haha.

  • I know. I hate myself too :P

  • damn that is one sweet guitar, what is it?

  • Carvin DC727

  • By far one of the best vids I´ve seen on youtube.

  • Fucking awesome Quality! (HQ) :D

very nice done. awesome 10/5* if possible

  • your guitar is beautiful

and that neck pickup sounds orgasmic

    also, great video

    drummer did an awesome job

  • I love that guitar... and the pickup =)

  • How does the q-tuner handle high gain? I hear some people think its kinda sterile and stiff for high gain.

  • It´s really clean. I was thinking about putting one in the bridge to but was afraid it would sound too clean. I put one in the neck for smooth soloing and it works great for that. Never tried one in the bridge, but would love to try that sometime, if you´ve heard them sound sterile I guess that makes sense. But I don´t know if that´s a bad thing before I´ve tried it in the bridge :P

  • Hey Michael, Tesseract is playing 3 gigs here in my area. They'll be staying over at my buddy's place, haha!

  • Lucky bastard!

  • I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure TesseracT play in drop G#, where it seems to me you're in standard? Really no big deal at all, but it would have saved you those slides at 1:13 and so on.

Really good job man. Are those those neodymium pickups you've got there? I've always wondered what they sounded like. Keep it up.

  • I´m not sure what tuning they use, but it´s highly possible they use a drop there for sure.

Its a high z q-tuner. At the end can you hear it :)

  • how would you compare the axe fx to the invader in rythm tones I know they are totaally different things but if you put them in the same ground what do you you prefer?

  • I´m kinda embarrassed to say this, but I actually like the axe better :/

  • Wow :D

Amazing stuff, howd you get all those lush tones?

  • Axe-fx =)

  • you should really do Death - Flesh and the Power it Holds.

  • As I said in the comment before yours, I will try to do some originals next I think. Maybe one more cover first. Listened to that song and it was good. I´ve also heard the guitarist used the x2n pickup exclusively. I had it installed in the bridge as you can see in this vid =)

  • fucking great idea!! XD

ps: Gojira in live, was the best live i've ever seen

  • That's a really good song man. I don't know. I want to make original songs instead you know, but I'll think about it!

  • that thing at the start was trippy as fuck

but yes a good cover :) you have good clarity in your playing im fairly jelous :P

  • Sounds like guitar is panned hard right.

  • Yeah I know. The sound is recorded with a handycam and it was placed pretty close to the wall, so I guess the sound was bouncing from the wall and into the right mic even when my cab was to the left :P

  • What effects are you using at 2:05? is it just a wah or something else as well?

  • It's an auto-wah.

  • was the gain with the Q tuner or the (looks like) X2N?

  • The gain was with the x2n and the cleans q-tuner.

  • how do you combine multiple videos into one ?

and which program did you use?

  • You can do it with pretty much any video-editing software. I use final cut pro...

  • do you know how to do it i with sony vegas? :S

  • Yes, I used vegas before. You have to click the icon on the video track to the left. The icon where it´s a window over a window..

  • oh sweet i got it, thanks :D

  • That's a really cool video! horns up. ;)

    Cheers

    Krimh

  • Thanks man, means a lot coming from you! =)

  • Fucking awesome! HD, that shit is nice!!

  • sorry to ask again but what camera did you use? i must have it

and what format video/app u use to encode?

  • It's a Sony HDR-SR11. I use compressor for encoding. On this one I just used one of the templates. Try to google "Best rendring for youtube HD" or something like that and you'll find some good rendring templates.

  • i have compressor too, can u tell me the exact template? :) thank you

  • Google this: 'compressor hd youtube' click the first link. download the template. That's it. He forgot one thing though. Make sure to have the kbits/sec at 5-8000 or the 'watch in HD' won't appear.

  • aha, thank you :)

  • NP =)

  • Oh my god I want a Sony HDR cam.

  • I don't regret getting mine. Very happy with it ^^

  • HD... gotta love it ;)

    Great playing guys :)

  • Yeah, I love HD ^^ Thanks!

  • very good !! awesome !! what is it for a band ? you played the song ??

  • The band is Tesseract. Check them out at myspace. We play over the original song...

  • Looks great guys !!!

  • Thanks !!! ^^

  • thats a great quality! like this one =)

    mp4 rocks :P

  • I think the other one looks and sounds the best, but unfortunately it can't handle your over-the-top drumming! It's all your fault!

  • WHAT

    im always on top..yooooaahhh :D

ok i think i get the difference.. just connect the laptop to my stereo-5000watt-bassmachine and i get it.. the H264 sounds better and has a quite more brighter pictures.

  • I told you ;)
