Lady Z is a bad mama jamma; but Rachel beat the boys three times - in the slop and on dirt...

horses for courses and all that, but Rachel ran 11 times over a 12 month period- that's a fighting champion in my mind...

i say hail to both the Queens: HRH Zenyatta,"Lady Z"- the Undefeated Queen; Contessa of Closers and Supreme Majesty of Synthetic Surfaces; and

HRH Rachel Alexandra, aka "Rachel the Conqueror; Dominatrix of Dirt, Mistress of Mud, and Warrior Queen of all Thoroughbreds!

to duhru4real: i am happy Zenyatta wants to race at 6; and i frankly don't care whether the world shows Rachel Alexandra any respect; her owner and handlers do - enough respect to protect her from running on synthetic surfaces;

i hope one day they DO race to see who's baddest of the bad; but if they don't - i'm cool with BOTH horses being the great champs they are!

rachel gets the nod - zenyatta would never have challenged the boys if Rachel hadn't done the heavy lifting all year - she is a de facto triple crown winner;

zenyatta is great, but rachel deserves the nod...

lol when she made her move on the home strech i was jumping up and down SCREAMING in my living room ;) I would have to say zinyatta just won horse of the year !! haha but it is very unusuall to have to great mares like zinyatta and rachel alexandra AT THE SAME TIME!! hahaha YOu go girls :D

That girl is ammazing . what a greeeat race .

the more i think about it, i have to go with rachel for horse of the year, because she sets the standard, she runs the whole race, then fends off all the closers. im not knocking against zenyatta in anyway, but she only runs the last three eighths. they should just be co-horse of the years :] Zenyatta ran an amazingf race though <33 I wouldn't be dissapointed either way :]
