  • i also enjoyed 2012. Glad i'm not alone. I went in there for one thing and one thing only: the world being torn to shreds and that's exactly what i got. Seeing that shit in the big screen with surround sound really pleased me.

  • The ugly truth was your fave rom-com of the year? Over (500) Days of Summer?

  • @wantsomecake328 'Fraid so, I really liked The Ugly Truth!

    - Grace

  • Hmmm pretty low not including avatar, typical for someone who wants recognition, i dont know how you can have 2102 in that list.

  • @PlausiblePictures I'm sorry, but I just didn't enjoy Avatar.

    - Grace

  • It had en EPIC ending though!

  • Comment removed

  • @BeyondTheTrailer Ya I didn't like avatar very much either, ok I take that back, I did like it, quite a bit but I have no idea why it is such a huge deal, to me it was just a really good action flick but nothing special.

  • @BeyondTheTrailer how come?

  • Top 2 movies in my opinion are district 9 and avatar. They both have really deep messages. You view the movies with a simplistic point of view you can't see what lies beneath the script. Those two were really great films

  • 1.Das Weisse Band

    2.Coraline

    3.Watchmen

    4.(500) Days Of Summer

  • Did every single movie critic forget about Up? Up was by far the best movie of the year! It made us all cry, laugh and feel adventurous! I hope this movie gets a well deserved Best Picture Nomination because it showed that a movie made for children and tap into the heart of an adult.

  • I loved Moon. Had to drive to another state to see it and they only had a 12 am showing, but it was so worth it. Hands down the best movie I saw in '09. I wish more people knew about it.

  • my favorite movie of the year is inglorious basterds

    6. sherlock holmes

    7. new moon

    8. watchmen

    9. 2012

    10. the proposal

  • New moon really? That movie sucked so much ass that it doesn't even to deserve to be called a movie.... even worse than the first twilight.... they both suck..... no pun intended...... but im not saying the books suck just the movies

  • What about harry potter? or transformers? or the hangover?

  • it's second now on the list of worldwide sales right under titanic :D not bad!

  • Instead of wasting their money on over the top specail affects , CGI and 3-D

They should use that money on decent writters.

Then they wouldnt need all that non-sence to keep audiences hooked

In most movies cases of 2009 this saying applys

"You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter."

I fear that in the years too come there wont be much change.

    Goodbye quality cinema.

  • hey wasuup

  • I want to see more Avatar 3D movies. Wow your taste are way off. Inglorious Basterds was horribly aweful.. seriously #1 Avatar #2 Moon #3 District 9 #4. Star Trek #5 Watchmen #6 harry Potter and the half blood prince #7 Sherlock Holmes #8 Evangelion 1.5 (Remake) great anime #9 up #10 2012 (cause I couldn't think of anything else) movie still sucked.
  • @muskydragon Inglorius Basterds was by far my favorite movie i saw last year

  • how so? seriously hardly any action and it was just boring dialogue. I frankly loved kill bill 1 compared to all his movies.

  • Grace I hate 3D. It ruined UP and countless other movies.

You get FIVE stars for mold.

  • my list may be a bit off...i couldnt decide on how this should go xD 10. Nine (not the tim burton one) 9. district 9 8. paranormal activity 7 star trek 6 public enemies 5 sherlock holmes 4inglorius basterds 3 coraline 2 orphan 1 up
  • Not a bad list Grace. I can understand where you are coming from with your point of view of those movies. Some I haven't seen, but most I have. My top 10 for 2009! 1. Avatar 2. 2012 3. District 9 4. Star Trek 5. The Hangover 6. Taking Woodstock 7. Ghost Of Girlfriends Past 8. G Force 9. Coraline 10. Crossing Over This list was based of off what I seen this year.
  • My Top 10: 10. Coraline 9. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 8. Cloudy With Chance of Meatballs 7. A Christmas Carol 6. Watchmen 5. Star Trek 4. Avatar 3. District 9 2. Up 1. Inglourious Basterds
  • I can't think of 10 but my Favorite was Sherlock Holmes the only movie I have ever seen twice in theatres but Avatar was cool it was the first movie I saw in 3D so it was interesting but it was long my legs fell asleep so I kinda felt like Jake Sully

  • ehhhhhhhh inglorios basterds was low low LOW on my list. I guess we all have different tastes.

  • going to see it in 3d toaday

  • My Top 10 2009 Movies! 10. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 9. Night at the Museum 2 8. District 9 7. Drag Me to Hell 6. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince 5. Sherlock Holmes (tied with) Madea Goes to Jail 4. Zombieland 3. Star trek 2. Avatar 1. Up

  • yeah, avatar was my first 3D experience

  • Aww, where is harry potter??!?!?!

  • why isn't avatar in this list?!

    anyways, heres my list:

    10.Year One 9. Transformers 2 8. Gi Joe 7. X Men Origins Wolverine 6. A Christmas Carol 5. Terminator Salvation 4. District 9 3. Up 2. The Princess and the frog 1. Avatar

  • why isnt inglourious basterds in your list

  • @masterofgnargnar i didn't see it

  • you should its awsome

  • 1. Slumdog Millionaire

    2. Is Anybody There?

    3. Up

    4. Moon

    5. The Hurt Locker

    6. Zombieland

    7. An Education

    8. In The Loop

    9. District 9

    10. A Serious Man

  • Slumdog Millionaire came out in 08.

  • Not in the UK, it didn't. And didn't go on wide-release in America until January either. Still, if you want to nitpick, bump all the other films up one and put (500) Days of Summer at 10 :)

  • ugly truth and 2012? those were far from being good movies, avatar and the hangover deserved a spot, but anyways: 1.Avatar 2.District 9 3.Hurt locker 4.Up in the air 5.Inglorious basterds 6.Star trek 7.Fantastic mr.fox 8.Up 9.The hangover 10.Princess and the frog
  • I just finished watching MOON...i felt several different things during the film...i felt small, amused, fatalistic, weird...it was just an odd feelin altogether...but great performance by Sam Rockwell...

  • I hated star trek

  • Avatar was the first non-Imax movie I saw in a theater in 3D, and I thought the 3d was great. I want to see more, but in a way similar to that of Avatar. No more objects flying at the screen, but a 3d experience that adds to the experience responsibly.

  • i gotta watch inglorious bastards

  • is the directors cut of watchmen comin out in england?

  • Haven't u seen:

    (500) Days of Summer

    Worlds Greatest Dad

    ??? o.0

  • I havent watched all the movies of 2009 so i cant make a fair list but at the moment Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, The Proposal and New Moon are on the top of my list

  • OMG...the Ugly truth made your list but not Avatar? Heigl's 27 dresses was far superior to Ugly truth, so I was expecting a good watch from UT, but was bitterly disappointed. If the opening sequence of Watchmen is a good enough reason to have in anyone's top 10, then surely Avatar, though not considered original (& I beg to differ) surely it deserves to be recognized on the same merit.

  • BTW good choice for your #1

  • top 5 for me is

    1. Inglourious Basterds

    2. Star Trek

    3. District 9

    4. Worlds greatest dad

    9. Couples Retreat

    8. Avatar

    7. The Princess and the frog

    6. Shorts

    5. The Blind Side

    4. Ponyo

    3. G- Force

Män som hatar kvinnor 9. Star Trek 10. Zombieland Also made a video on this list as well as my top films of the decade.
  • should note that my list is in alpha order (too hard to chose)

  • That's a fair top ten. But I definitely miss The Hangover, and Avatar deserved a spot.

  • My Favorite Movie Of The Year Is Saw 6 One Of The Best In The Series

  • I Hope Tey Don't Make A Sequel Of Avatar

  • no avatar? district 9 should be number 1

  • hey you look hot with that glasses. I watch FLD everyday, Didn't know you are on the nextnewnetwork.

How about Avatar? I thought that would be one of the top 10.

  • what happen with UP, The hangover, (500) days of summer, paranormal activity, this is it, and your mother? HAHA

  • My Top 10 Are: 10.Sherlock Holmes 9.Twilight 2 8.Alvin And The Chipmunks 2 7.Watchmen 6.Up In The Air 5.District 9 4.Up 3.Transformers 2 2.Harry Potter 6 1.Avatar

    3.The Hangover

    2.Transformers 2

  • No Up? definetely worth the top 10

  • avatar was my 1st time seeing 3d (other then the shows at disney land ) and i must say it was great. i now think every movie should be done in 3d. but you should beable to buy your own glasses and bring them. when i say buy i mean some good ones that are like sunglasses and fit nice on your face and are more comfy to have on.

  • i really liked inglourious basterds alot the one problem was the paceing at some points i thought it was just a bit boring but picked back up very quickly and was awesome

  • my top 3 are:

    5. The Hangover

    4. Inglourious Basterds

    1. The Hurt Locker

  • im 12 and i think avatar is by far the best movie i think ive seen in a while loved ever second of it

  • *COUGH* soloist! haha!

  • Hm. I don't think Inglorious Bastards was as good as I imagined.. I expected more action, but it was just a bunch of 'blah blah blah'. The acting was good though.. I guess.

  • yes agreed

  • Yea..too much talking...Like literally....TOO MUCH talking.....

  • I can tell you the worst movie i saw this year..

Dragon Ball Evolution..Worst Movie of 2009....

    It was beyond terrible.....

  • American Pie Book Of Love was the worst movie of 2009!!

  • Oh...Im not into American Pie...Might as well just watch Porno... I don't watch any American Pie/Datemovie..ect.....I know those movie Suck already...

  • Haha.. Okey :s :P American Pie 1, 2 & 3 is great movies.. Band Camp is good, naked mile and beta house is ok but book of love SUCKS!!

  • What about Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li?

  • I never seen that movie but I'm guessing nothing can be worst then DBZ.... I stay away from Street fighter the movie like it had STDs....

  • The Street Fighter-based movie that came out in the 90s was awful, but this new Chun Li one topped it by turning in something even worse.

  • My god...I use to like the old street fighter because I was still a little maggot..but now I am 19..and it blows...but yea..the new one looks pretty shitty..like...I saw bison picture..he Look...like bussiness man in the movie.... Jesus.... What is wrong with filmakers

  • Avatar was my first experience with 3D. I saw it in imax and I left with a headache, but i was sick so that might have had something to do with it. i'd be willing to see another movie in 3D but i'm still skeptical as to whether it's something i'd enjoy.

  • omg im so happy someone else then me saw moon.

  • 3D was ok. Didn't really add much to the movie other then a little more depth to the world. I would like to see more if it is used like this.

  • 10. Angels and Demons 9. Watchmen 8. Sherlock Holmes 7. Taken 6. Hangover 5. 500 days of Summer 4. District 9 5. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince 4. Avatar 3. Star Trek 2. Inglourious Basterds 1. Paranormal Activity
  • a) I'm saddened, Grace, that District 9 is so low on your list.

    b) I have to disagree with Inglourious Basterds, as I thought it was a boring pile of drek.

    c) We aren't "forgetting" Moon... most of us have just not been able to see it given it's SUPER limited release.

  • @SivartAlappes I didn't mean that "you" had forgotten Moon, but that awards season and the media has forgotten it. To all who have not seen it, I saw RENT IT!!! :)

  • I agree totally, Grace. Moon was amazing. I was lucky it came to my town.

  • Uh, someone please explain why Princess costs that much?!?

  • The crew the animation its all really expensive. Plus paying a guy to draw for a year straight isnt that cheap.

  • Exactly, and these movies have a LOT of artists working on them.

  • I have not seen all the movies that i wanted to yet but here is my list so far. 10. Transformers 2 9. Obsessed 8. MJs This is It 7. Mall Cop 6. Saw 6 5. X-Men Origins-Wolverine 4. District 9 3. Knowing 2. Angels and Demons 1. Paranormal Activity
  • I usually download movies. I downloaded this one and watched in 3D twice. Only movdie this year I payed for.

  • I'm just telling you my favorite movie of all time in 2009.

#1. "Michael Jackson's This Is It"

I just a HUGE fan of MJ. The film was WONDERFUL, the music was GREAT, and i cried at the end seeing what could have been. Miss you Michael! <3

  • where's avatar?

  • Unfortunately, I didn't like Avatar.

  • Still need to see a few more films (such as A Single Man and The Last Station) but here's my tentative Top Ten: 1-Bright Star 2-Anti-Christ 3-Star Trek 4-Inglorious Basterds 5-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 6-Away We Go 7-Watchmen 8-A Serious Man 9-Nine 10-The Soloist

  • Hell yeah Inglorious Bastards was my favorite too!

  • I feel bad for the Princess and the frog. It should do better.

  • @NayteLayam

was it any good? compared to the other disney classics?

  • Hiegl is really unlikeable in real life. Still not as bad as Megan Fox.

  • i only saw one video that was made in 2009 and i t was the hangover and it was extremely hilarious so yeah that is my favorite

  • Ask me after iron man 2

  • thank-you for making this. i was wondering for so long how much money those movies made and thats dissapointing about the princess and the frog cuz i kinda wanted it to do good. but i dont get how an animated cartoon movie can cost 109m to make.

  • Inglourious Bastards was a great movie. I had friends that said they didn't like it, but I think thats because you have to like Quentin Tarantino's style to enjoy it. I may not have been historically accurate, but it was a GREAT movie in my book.

  • yuch, i hate inglorious bastards

  • 10.Coraline

    9.Where the Wild Things Are
