Eventually the chopper landed to save fuel. All we had to do (us driving our Rovers) was air down to about 15 psi to climb up. The first Rover up had a winch with a synthetic cable (which won't chop your head off when it snaps, instead drop to the ground). He gladly pulled those guys up and one of the agents joked and said "man, I'm sure this'll end up on myspace." After they were pulled out, the agents did mention the Rubicon and said that they do get stuck worse than the Tahoes.

I was there when this happened. These guys were doing at least 15 mph in areas where we were crawling through, the newer Tahoe cracked the shit out of his bumper. A National Guard heli spotted us and sent those guys in to check us out. We waited for them to exit the crater, but they couldn't, so we offered to help. They first wanted to wait 2 hours for an H1 with a winch to get out there, then changed their minds. The whole time the chopper was circling over to find another way out.

the chevy's weight alot more that's the main issue plus the land rovers probably aired down their tires before hand. The border patrols were probably running their stock 40psi that kills on sand. I had no problem on hills like that with my tires aired down to 15psi
