  • Really great effort - thanks for the entertainment

  • Dude that left hand is SICKKKK. Outstanding work!

  • Excellent!

  • It's a wand

  • awesome. Very impressed by the left hand work btw.Always though the HH line was played with both sticks. You nailed the break a little bit too much if you care about a little feedback ;)

  • Thank you for the kind comments. Watch the simple minds video, it appears as though Mel Gaynor is using 1 hand, his right to play this song too.

  • The wife put you out in the garage huh? Nice cover!

  • Nice take on a classic 80's tune I like the little shuffle on the hi hat instead of the 16th notes originally played.

  • cool dude!

  • hey man are you a lefty? but right footed?

  • When I play drums I use both hand right and left..notice when I'm on the Ride cymbal I'm using the right. Right foot bass drum , yes.

  • MIDI file.... appropriate for an 80's song I suppose...ha... Or maybe MIDI's came about in early 90's. Holy crap... your drumming posture looks painful.. but thanks for the video...it's very helpful.

  • Very cool!!

  • Thanks!

  • awsome mate was wondering can u play songs like new sensation by inxs im from sydney australia

  • Dude, awesome job on this. I'm a huge fan of the original song and I'm tapping my foot to this version and doing air drums at my computer desk like mad. lol Good job!

  • AWESOME FRICKIN' DEXTERITY BRO!!!

  • thanks

  • Rockin!!!!!!!

  • very very cool

  • Thanks for doing this!

I was wanting to listen to this song with the drum beat being emphasized - glad I found your post.

If you re-do this again, I have a suggestion.

Try to begin with just your drum beat for a couple measures, then have the music come in.

And could you change the lead "voice" being used on the midi file to something heavier sounding?

    But anyway, nice talent.

  • you know what would be really cool? for someone to create this track using various ppl playing the instruments solo on youtube and then mixing the audio to create an internet band :o..but in this case only the drums would need to be heard?..its out of my league but a great idea i think? anybody up for the challange??

  • The boy done good....

  • Thanks

  • Wow, the hi hat is going crazy.

  • You should be in a simple minds tribute band!! anychance of doing alive and kicking also..would love to see that!!

  • pure brilliance!!!! would love to see you doing "alive and kicking"?

  • F***ing Amazing. Great song and the drumming was superior!!!

  • i'd have so much more respect for this kid if he wasnt drumming to this song.

  • Great drumming mate, i play myself and would love my band to cover this SM classic.... can you post another vid of you playing to the original track though........ your drumming is awesome but the midi track sounds like bloody Macdonalds music ! If you like the song, how on earth can you play along to that version! ! Nice job though, having said that

  • nice, veryyyyyyyyy nice dude! i'm a drummer myself, and I really enjoyed your groove. the midi version in the background kinda spoiled the whole thing, but the drumming is kickass! thumbs up! :)

  • You have groove, my man.

I notice the craziest things: That one black sock just kind of distracted me throughout the vid. The other only made a brief appearence. LOL

  • Thanks.

  • My regards!! I can only inderstand that you love the Film or the Song so much as me...

  • Yes i do.

  • NIce snare mute.. The good old dish towel lol

I like your improv Vid better but none the less still a good video

  • those tamas?

  • No, they're Yamahas!

  • I liked it. I started drums a couple years ago. You are good!

  • Thanks!

  • Wow, that WAS very impressive. I do need to get some tracks without drums to play along with. The only thing I don't like about the tracks you have though is the fact that they don't sound like real instruments. Is that just a necessary sacrifice to get the tracks without drums? If so, that's cool. I have a lot to work on.

  • It depends on your midi sound source. Mine was a small laptop the othere instruments sound somewhat cheezy. However if you ran that same midi file through a nice key synth, it would sound alot better. The basic point is to help train you with your time and playing with a real band. That is what midi files are great for.

  • That was hot!! ;)

  • Oh really?...thanks!

  • thats pretty awesome man, sounds tight!

  • Thanks!

  • Your kit sounds great, and your a really good drummer.

  • Thanks.!

  • KOOL!! im going to try it also

  • Its comphy for me!

  • Geat Dude!

  • Thanks!

  • not bad, mate

  • that was really good

  • real garage band

  • No. Midi garage band with live drums.

  • Dope!

  • Yup!

  • you're really good! great job man!

  • Thanks. I sure practice alot!

  • Not bad, I have a question though. What's the technique you're using for your left hand? I've seen a couple of guys use it before, but I never really asked about it.

  • omg, that was insane! very groovy, i like how ambidextrous(sp?) u are

  • Well thank you! I practice leading, right hand and left hand alot.

  • great job!!! I LOVE SIMPLE MINDS!!!!!LONG LIVE SIMPLE MINDS!!!!
