thx 4 the video looks like a piece of cake-will see lol,i recall a time when a co-worker removed the top without shutting water off,ROFLMAO,,90 psi water pressure,he was seen clamping both hands over the top water spraying eveywhere.ahh good times.
@Zendog500: Yeah when you don't do urinal repairs you might not know that is a shutoff valve there on the right. We all know what the regular toilet one looks like.
Hi ! I just installed a urinal, moved to the second floor. Thing is the water does not stop running. It is a used urinal, but it wasn't like that before, but I did'nt touch the valve nor disassembled. Just the part that goes to the water line. What can I do to fix this ?
Actually, all flushometers are "non-hold-open" in that no matter how long you hold the handle down, the flush length will be the same and will conclude. It will not flush continuously.
thank you very much for the video but now my problem is the water in toilet is not coming enough and a another one is not stoping is keep going i know yours is a urinal but i have a sloan valve on those toilet what do you think is the problem?
This video was super helpful! It looks to be the identical sloan valve as my toilet. Would there be any different instructions to replacing the same valve on a toilet? Mine is starting to stick and run for too long making me nervous! I would like to do this myself. Any suggestions or warnings?
@hardwarehelper Thanks so much for the advice. At least I do have a new shut-off valve already in place. I'll proceed with more confidence now. Again, sincere thanks for the video and advice!
Thank you so much for your help. The unit is about 21 years old, guess thats why I cant get off the top. I am debating about replacing whole unit. I hope you have a great thanksgiving coming up. Thanks again
I worked on our today, it was not flushing. I changed the handle valve,,and it still wont flush. I tried to get the top off but is on for life it seems LOL. I managed to put it all back together, even after had the whole pipe assembly off. After I turned on wter and heard it flilling in pipes,,then it wouldnt stop running into urinal. I pressed toggle handle a few times now it doent work again. Do you have any advise?? btw the pipe going to top of urinal is a larger type, not narrow . Th U so m
Hi. You need to get the top cover off. Use a large pipe wrench. Grab the top of the cover and turn counter clock wise, (as you look down from the top). Change those parts inside. Should be the fix. Good luck.

@zeldarado80 Hi, just make sure to shut off the valve first. You shouldn't have any problems. Once you replace the parts, it should be like new.

The urinal looks like a Kohler Bardon K-4980-T from the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s.
