You pay for what you get. You buy a dell, you computer goes to shit and you talk to someone from dells customers service that's located in INDIA! Not only do you pay for the previous things I mentioned, but you pay for convenient customer service. Apple genius is 2 miles away from my house with people that speak English!

You're probably too uneducated about the subject to know this but the clock speed and number of cores are not the only variables when it comes to the processors speed, the architecture of the chip makes a difference, and a big one. There really is no comparison.. Your 5 year old computer also doesn't have 1066MHz memory, SSDs also weren't invented at that time. Do your research for god's sake...

Bold move opening that box with a knife. I personally utilize a heat gun to carefully lift the tape off the box while sitting in a foam pit to ensure there would be no breakage in the case the computer was accidentally dropped; plus, forceps are used to properly extract the device.
