you can go as fast as you want, but nothing feels better than grooving. when you hit that state where you just play with yours eyes closed and play what your soul is feeling theres no better sensation in the world, you lose all cares in the world and just lose yourself in drums
o ccool cheers dude i didnt see the whole thing lol ive been looking at the dream range of rides but not sure what would sound much like an old k like what elvin jones used but without the crazy costs
Of course you can tune cymbals, what you think they come out a flat sheets of metal and are just sold, no one would buy them. There are many different ways to tune cymbals for example you can have them machine hammered mathematically to get a factory pitch, or you can hand hammer them until you get the required pitch, and you can lath them or not to give them a clean sound, for example most jazz cymbals are un lathed to give it that really gritty rough sound, as a musician you should know this.
lol Everyone ackknowledges its possible to tune cymbals lol, but unless you know how to lathe the mand ur a cymbal designer or whatever the hell near, you camn't tune a cymbal!
i recently got a gretsch club jazz and after the heads were finally broken in a little (stock Evans heads. no where near my favorites) they sounded really great and very simliar to these drums here

yeah, a drum instrutor i once had, alvin atkinson, he had talked about this. they absorb he earther nutrients or some shit and it darkens the sound
jordison215 2 years ago
i doubt that would happen, is this proven?

@MrPocketGroover all the cymbals in this video could loosely be classified as "jazz'' cymbals. they're all lathed, just like most cymbals.
