  • Conspiracy theorists would say you had something to do with it! Since you started filming just before it happened, you had to know it was about to happen! Terrorist!!!

  • lucky shot :D Why did you grab the camera in the first place? :D

  • holy shit that was awesome!

  • 0:35 Holy sh*t!!!

  • FREE FIREWORKS AND POCORN IF QUICK!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

  • O_O

  • thats weird b/c a transformer blew up near where I live, right off of lost nation, this shit wuz huuuuuge,so i rode my bike down there ha

  • @thepartyboy0103 ha,if u pause at 0:36 perfectly,u can c his neighborhid XD

  • Crap I Lost the Battle For Power LOL!

  • did it died?

  • fuck yeah that sounds tuff!

  • Wow, yet ANOTHER video mislabeled "transformer explosion", but not involving any transformer explosion. I see a something on fire in the distance, then a brief electric arc, then nothing. No "explosion". Hint: HERE is what a "transformer explosion" looks like: watch?v=fzbQjd_Oo4Q

  • i see one like this near my home tonight i think like wtf im sure i dead (i was outside at no more than 30 fts of the explostion)

  • we have squirrels that blows ours up all the time they endof replacing the dam thing first time ever i was told to shoot them in town

  • @fredtop20 In High School one day a bolt struck right outside the window. 15 feet away maybe-BOOM!

  • Omfg something big and blue just exploded in my back yard

  • lol damn, that thing lit up the sky like it was midday out :p

  • not a transformer explosion.Phases(wires) getting together because of debris or wind.

  • You see that in the Lower Part of the Pictures all Lights went off...

  • And here is a REAL transformer explosion video. You can once even hear the "zing" of debris flying away at dangerously high speeds. Video at this youtube link:

    watch?v=sngiPk6sTBs

  • The explosion happens about 28 seconds into the video.

  • watch?v=VeH1WDBRLjg

This video is at least is a bit closer to an explosion. Although not completely, because it vents burning oil without blowing up.

  • Arc here, not an explosion. I saw one transformer explosion video once, and I could hear the zing of shrapnel flying by.

  • omg there was a huge rain/wind storm and lighting hit a transformer and boom the resterant i was in lights shut off it was loud though

  • wow

    its from the wind guys

    you have to relize it

they were done filming transformers revenge of the fallen on october 23,2008

  • Then there was darkness

  • how'd you know to start filming tho? or were you jus, like many, filming the storm and then it happened? by the way do you know what caused it, and lol was there abuzz to it that the camera didn't pick up

  • that`s what we call 'sabotage' :)

  • nothing like seeing that short circuit then going" oh shit it'll fry my computer!!!!" SHUT OFF NOW PLZ!!!!! yaknow? still it's scary. seeing that, oh CRAP! the transformers about to explode, really freaks on out

  • holy shit that was big

  • haha today i was standing right across the street from one and it blew up :P those fuckers are LOUD!!!

  • yeah, I can remember that sound. - pretty cool

  • oh whoops there's your power outage right there!

  • thats scary... but still kinda cool if there were no deadly consequences

  • Lol, who gave all those proper answers bad rating??? :D

  • lights out for that trasformer

  • it wasnt an accident...the transformer flashes b4 it shorts out...when it does shortout..u get the "explosion" and that unusual sound of electricity

  • after that happened, did the lights go out at your apartment?

  • yes they did. i think they went out in the neighborhood for some hours. if i remember well, i just went to bed (it was near midnight) and woke up when everything lit up around 4 AM or so

  • a car hit the power pole across the street and knocked down the pole :P

  • i dont think so. i did not hear a crash and it was close enough for me to hear it. i think the wind either moved some tree branches or the cables and that started the short circuit. but i could be wrong.

  • no there was an accident near MY house

  • ooooh. my apologies for the misunderstanding. cheers.

  • transformers can do that for no reason...happend around the corner from me on a cool calm night...

  • Yep that was what they were designed for, to power up fridges and then later explode... so you can open the fridge and drink the beer after then event.

  • i actually saw a transformer blow today across the train tracks from my apartment near a warehouse i cant remember exactly what time but i remember looking out my window and seeing 2 bright blue flashes and then about 5 minutes later like 6 fire trucks showed up. they didnt stay long though and only one stayed for an hour or 2. the only other time i have seen a transformer blow was on youtube lol.

  • that was pretty cool my brother saw the transformer behind my house explode

  • That was wierd huh?lol well see ya Maybe we can see it again X3

  • this is crazy!

as the transformer lit up, you shook.

was that out of reaction or did you actually feel a wave? just curious...

  • good question... it was just my reaction.

    i was just like "wtf!!!???"

    i don't remember any wave...

if my memory is correct, the explosion was more something like a "pack!!!" than a "kaboom!!!" (dunno if this makes any sense)

  • "pack!!!" like a rifle went off... interesting; i thought it would have been an elongated boom haha

and the electric sound thing at :36 is intriguing as well.

    thank you

  • i had the sense that the 0:36 sound was the sound of all the main electric circuitry (other transformes i guess) in the neighborhood, as they were shutting down. it was really like a "bzzzzz"

tks for the comments and questions

  • what made you come to the verandah?

  • the wind. there was a lot of wind that night. i wanted to see whatever could be saw. the original clip is longer, because i walked in my apartment taping the sound of the wind as it made doors tremble and all

  • Was it optimus or megatron that exploded? I couldnt see :/

  • you could tell that after the transformer blew up, the electricity in the hose also went out at 00:36

  • Transformers was a typical Micheal Bay flick, too much explosions.

  • At the Christmas midnight mass in 2006, a transformer near our church blew. The whole church went dark and the rest of the service was candlelit.

  • candlelight dinner

  • no more power for that street

  • pawned! that looks so cool

  • The silent, evil, explosive power lurking all around us making our lives easy.

  • looks like someone threw a bunch of m60's in their computer and blew it up..how ammusing..

  • no more power for them

  • I got nearly an identical view during a massive thunderstorm in Panama City. Lightning struck a transformer four or five blocks from me, and blew every transformer (4 or 5 of them) around the strike. My first thought when I saw this was "Is that Panama?!" XD Great work.

  • This has absoulutely NOTHING to do with your comment but I really like your username! Where did you get the idea for it?

  • I've been GothAlice for more than eight years now, and when I finally decided to get a YouTube account, GothAlice was already taken, the bitch. ;^)

  • Sorry!

  • why the hell were you videotaping outside anyway?

  • there was a lot of wind. the windows were shaking. the doors were trembling. i had a new camera. so i began to tape it all from the inside of the apartment (the clip is longer. i cut it because the beginning is boring), and i got out and kept filming hoping that the clip would capture the movements of the trees on the street below. the first time i saw the light i even thought it was an ambulance coming up, maybe an accident. and then it blew!!

  • you lucky dog!

  • no more power on the street

  • thats so interesting and then the block goes black :D

  • looks like a star exploded on Earth

  • excuse me mr. Alecongua, where did this video has been made?? (good view)

  • I taped the video from the balcony at an apartment in San Salvador (capital of El Salvador). Hope this answers your question. Cheers

  • WOW

  • ive seen something like this, it wasnt the trasformer but two lines touched. The blue light what blinding and the noise was pretty sweet.

  • Yep most of the flashes you see on tv during a storm is the phases going phase to ground or phase and phase and that is what causes the fire. That is why more common that transformers blowing up. That rarely happens.

  • Sweet!

  • lol I love how light's faster than sound. *Brilliant flash!*........"Bzzzzzt!"

  • the electricity of the block went out.

  • yep! and there was a "bang" that i dunno why was not well captured by the cam

  • i was driving under one and it did that. I thought my truck blew up. all of a sudden there was a bright flash and a LOUD explosion at the same time. i had to pry the seat out of my butt.

  • AWESOME

  • That was Satan who is a spirit of the air, he caused evil to manifest in the transformer.

Jesus is Gay and he loves you.

    (but I don't)

  • maybe a little...too lucky!?!? XP

  • well, maybe not lucky, but yes, it was a remarkable coincidence. the original video is actually longer because i began taping the effect the wind had in the doors of the apartment, which were trembling. also, at first i thought the light was from an incoming car (that's why the camera pans in front of the light without stopping, the first time)

  • what city was that, and what drove you to film out of your balcony.

  • it was in San Salvador (capital of El Salvador, in Central America)

there was a lot of wind that night. the building is in the slope of a mountain, and you could hear the wind gushing through the windows and all. so i went out to the balcony to try to film the effect of the wind on the trees nearby. lucky me the explosion happened exactly at that time.

  • if a nearby cop saw that, he would usually keep people clear away from the exploding transformer, and the same would go for a fire truck

  • you are correct!

but no, no one was around at the time. it was midnight. no people were on the street. but you're right. it probably was dangerous for cars that passed nearby. by the way, tks for suscribing.

  • yea, a cop would have seen the explosion from a block or so, and i did hear a siren from a police car near the end of the video as well

  • i just checked and you are correct, there was a siren. but it is far away. just a coincidence...

  • you know what? i think it was not a police-car siren but an alarm siren. maybe a car or a house alarm.

  • that can be quite dangerous though, did any cops happen to see the explosion from a block or so?

  • no cops around. i'm not so sure how cops would be able to predict when and where a transformer will explode. and what should cops do if they see it?

  • wow that was awsum

  • Cheap alternative to fireworks.

  • Oh yeah!! The lights went out in the whole neighborhood (including my place). It was around midnight and I think they fixed it around 4 AM...

  • Looks like some lights went out. Amazing though how bright that flash was!

  • Cool video, very lucky to have caught that! The Buzzzz noise was from the transformer but obviously light travels faster than sound hence the delay.

  • That happened to us once, we heard this Bzzt noise and then a huge BOOM and the power went out o_o

I never saw one though until today o-o

  • That "bzzzt" noise you mention is kinda eerie... The sound of electricity...

  • It could have come from somewhere in the house, it was a pretty old house, and the living room was re done by an amateur in the 1970s o-o

  • i agree...that heppend last night here...that sound is very eerie
