great... I discovered them via those bootlegs (eva, big beat ?) in 86... 86 and the sixties coming back... those bands were still in theyr 40's did not many concerts back in the 80's ... no ?
Great group. My 1966-69 University of Rhode Island band routinely opened with "Why Do I Cry". You won't find a tighter group than the Remains ... in fact, I think I'll dig that album out right now and give it a listen. "Say You're Sorry" , oh yeah.
Actually the Beatles were screamed out by the female fans in the stands and their stage presence was beginning to fade. The Remains? Their music was always on the high side. We had a small garage band at the time, we loved Don't Look Back and it was great at Suffolk Downs..only problem, Barry broke a string on his guitar and he STILL finished the set..you would never had known. The Remains were a part of every 17 year olds lives in Boston growing up.... they were great!
Thanks for this post..saw them last evening in Hollywood they were a bit better than what's posted here. A documentary was filmed last evening in Hollywood at the show..
If you liked this, you can listen to 4 songs from this concert there : http://rapidshare.de/files/25090858/The_Remains_-_Marmande__France__15.04.2006.rar.html
For reason unknown, the link above doesn't work, but try the one in the "About the video" section, this one seems OK. The file is still there, anyway.
So glad these cats reformed and are still ROCKIN! LONG LIVE THE REMAINS!

"Don't Look Back" was written by Billy Vera of the Beaters! The Remains record is one of the greatest rock'n'roll 45s of the 60s.
