Worst-case scenario is that there come like-minded types who band together and post more dislikes than likes of such a video as this. @Beccathehedgehog309 Scientific ethical standards prohibit human interference in the natural order of things...this was a natural event and predation on them happens all the time. Even if it didn't survive, it would have no effect on the population, given that Adelie penguins are relatively abundant, and their population stable.

Like I said before, nature is not always pretty and to see or study it in its entirety you have to be able to stomach this kind of behavior.

And human compassion is part of our nature. It is actually the scientific view that isn't normal. It's nothing but construct and has nothing to do with nature and its reality. If all humans were sensitive like Christine, there wouldn't be war in the world of humans.

@Clarissa83100 You're right. It is an ideology. One whose goal is to limit the interference of humans on the wilderness....which is an especially important goal in an environment as near-to-pristine and as fragile as that of the Antarctic marine ecosystem.

As for compassion being part of human nature...that is entirely open to debate. Would you argue that soldiers are not sensitive or compassionate? War exists for a variety of reasons, but it is completely natural. And apart from sensitivity.

@inyourstory Many American soldiers in Afghanistan ARE compassionate -- they say they can't forsake the people there and I like their sensitivity. Anyway we ARE a Christian country, with high ideals. We can't be like, "Well, that's our nature, we're killers." Lion&Lamb in peace together doesn't sound very reasonable, but it's a wonderful allegory of high Christian ideals. We shouldn't give them up. Modern human civilization depends on trust and sensitivity. Lack of compassion destroys it.

@Clarissa83100 Religion is a major cause of war, so you cannot say that having Christian (or any other religious) ideals makes us peaceful. In fact, Christianity in many ways supports hatred, intolerance, and violence. Not to mention anti-intellectualism. Instead of getting our morals from the Bible (which is also filled with rape, incest, murder, genocide, slavery, etc) we should turn to reason and rationality and celebrate human rights. Relying on primitive tribal culture gets us nowhere.

@inyourstory i agree with you except it is the people that support hatred, intolerance and violence not religion. religion is the banner that people hide behind in order to get what they want. very few aspects of any religion tell us to hate and kill. any christian who is anti any group or individual is potentially a hypocrite. religion at its most basic level tells us to love people and be nice. any action otherwise is a contradiction of basic ideology and an example of human failure.
