  • Lets start at the very beginning, Bush began the War with Iraq on lies, Iraq had nothing to do with 911 or weapons of mass destruction so why are we holding detainees in the first place. If they were soldiers of Iraq then they obeyed orders to defend their Country from invaders being the US, etc. Bush and his Administration should be in prison for the deaths of all who died or were tortured because of the War he caused based on lies.

  • Didn't you know? Were not allowed to act like adults in America by acknowledging the bad things our country has done lately and throughout history. Try it sometime in public as I did in my political science class at college, see how many sighs and eye rolls you get. One of our biggest problems is that we have been conditioning everyone in our country for decades to not accept America's major flaws and hypocrisies without thinking of it as un-American, and now we completely sold out our morals.
  • No government on earth has been so blatantly hypocritical as the Bush administration. Claiming to be Christians, while orchastrating 911 and other attacks for self promotion, greed and power to create fear and lead thousands to die in wars for profit. If God doesn't rain fire on the US government and damn them all to hell, He must apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. The war on terror is a complete fraud. As long as the US refuses to confess its crimes and repent, how can they say God bless America?

  • I send at least one fax a week to Obama and my representatives about this issue. I don't mess around with emails, they don't get enough attention and snail mail is too slow.

As long as our country refuses to confess our crimes and repent, we have no honor and deserve no respect.

  • Snail mail may be slow, but it gets attention. Reps definitely pay attention to their mail.

  • I would think that even fewer people fax, which often costs much more money too, so they might pay even more attention to faxes than they do to snail mail. Or is it a pipe dream?

  • The Shrubbery didn't think of the best way to release innocent people they had tortured because they couldn't.

To do so would be to admit they were wrong and criminally negligent.

Better other suffer for Shrub's mistakes then he or any of his accomplices suffer a minute of reproach or guilt.

And I hate to say it a lot of Americans will let them do that for the same reason.

  • If "We The People" do not have the courage to hold our leaders to account "We The People" will lose our Democratic Republic.

  • He is an imperialist too. The idea that people can be guilty, even if not charged and convicted of a crime is outragous. --

In fact, all but 4 people at Gitmo are de jure innocent. They should be released.

The Left loves the Empire just as much as the Neocons. There really is not much of a difference.

  • 911 is the key to cheney - open a proper inquiry and let the trials begin.

  • When you see how these bastards have got away with all this stuff - the wars the touture etc etc I begin to see the merit in vigulante tactics.

I must say though It seems Cheney gets all the stick, personally I think Rumsfeld is the worst of the Repblican crowd and seems to escape blame and attention from all sides

  • What have we become?

Nothing more and nothing less than a corporation-dominated police state, where the notion of equality of all and for all in the eyes of the law has become an urban legend.

We let Cheney and his cronies win this little spin game and it won't just be foreigners facing the dogs and the water boards. Those who do not learn from history...

  • YT won't allow me to vote up or down on a comment, but I love yours!

  • Yeah. I just checked back, had given yours the thumbs up. No vote recorded. I may have made the foolish mistake of offending Tom Delay when I gave testimony at his trial involving ripping off his business partner in an extermination company in Texas. :(

  • Ha! Excellent!

  • This angers me beyond words ... Dick Cheney and multiple other Bush Administration officials need to be prosecuted for War Crimes!

  • I actually have a physical reaction when I see Bush and Cheney - especially Bush

  • The Worst Administration EVER!! The Worst Administration EVER!!

The Worst Administration EVER!! The Worst Administration EVER!!

The Worst Administration EVER!! The Worst Administration EVER!!

The Worst Administration EVER!! The Worst Administration EVER!!

  • Many detainees were sold to the US military by personal enemies they had in their tribal regions. They were not affiliated with Al Qaeda or the Taliban in Afghanistan, or with Saddam Hussein's Baathist Party in Iraq. It became a way to collect a few thousand dollars and get rid of a rival or enemy. Over 100 detainees died in US custody. The water boarding and Pelosi smokescreens we have been getting are attempts to conceal the Bush Administration's system wide program of torture and humiliation.

  • The photographs we have not seen from Bagram and Guantanamo will look identical to the photographs we have seen from Abu Ghraib. They will show that the alleged behavior of a "few bad apples" was actually the result of an orchestrated system wide program. These torture methods were taught by General Miller and his 24 man Tiger Team. Operation Copper Green started in Guantanamo and migrated to Bagram and Abu Ghraib with General Millers' Tiger Team.

  • Copper Green is reported by American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh to be one of several code names for a U.S. black ops program, according to an article in the May 24, 2004 issue of The New Yorker. According to Hersh, the task force was formed with the direct approval of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld during the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, and run by Deputy Undersecretary Stephen Cambone.

  • Hersh claims the special access program members were told "Grab whom you must. Do what you want". The program allegedly designed physical coercion and sexual humiliation techniques for use against Muslim Arab men specifically, to retrieve information from suspects, and to blackmail them into becoming informants.

According to the article, the sexual humiliation techniques were based on the book, The Arab Mind, written by the late cultural anthropologist Raphael Patai in 1973.

  • The book claimed to be a "study of Arab culture and psychology". According to Hersh's anonymous intelligence source, the Patai book was "the bible of the neocons on Arab behavior", which gave life to two themes: "One, that Arabs only understand force and, two, that the biggest weakness of Arabs is shame and humiliation".

  • Hersh claims to have spoken to a senior CIA official who said the program was designed by Rumsfeld to wrest control of information from the CIA, and place it in the hands of the Pentagon. According to Hersh's sources, the program was so successful in Afghanistan, that Cambone decided to introduce the SAP program to operations during 2003 invasion of Iraq, eventually leading to the use of common soldiers instead of using special ops forces exclusively.

  • The program was used on detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison, leading directly to the prisoner abuse by US soldiers there.

  • ushadrons 4 sec of defence ;-]

  • cheney and bush need to be tried and hung publicly. The illegal attack of Iraq has resulted in the deaths of 1.3 million innocent Iraqi's, many women, children and infants.

    Great video!

  • Can we hang them publicly (or at least waterboard until dead) THEN try the bodies? Or do we have to go through the silly motions of a "trial?" Just curious, because your idea does sound fair. :)

  • Thanks. We believe in due process, so as long as their trials don't cost more than $150 dollars a head, we're for trial before execution.

The idea we really like, which we came up with some time ago, is to send cheney, bush, rice and dumsfeld, along with the rest of this criminal administration, to Iraq to be tried. They attacked them illegally and would likely be beheaded in a matter of seconds. talk about justice!

  • Please, lets be serious here. We should just surrender them to La Hague's world court. They will be legally tried, the US will not have to waste money on it and we will look good. Let them die in a foreign jail despised by all. The US can recover its honor and dignity.

Lets do it and prevent it from happening again. Lets do it not to punish past crimes but to stop future ones.

    Lets look forward, not backward.

    True justice demands it.

  • Outstanding! We have toyed with that idea as well, and find it entirely suitable, as well as workable.

  • Im more afraid of sociopaths holding the power in America and starting wars and inciting violence while defending their right to torture and impoverish our nation with their personal and private toy the WAR INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX than I ever was of the Middle East. These kind of leaders are bringing us problems like N. Korea because they are speaking for all of us since they remain in control and nothing is done. All of Bushco and their obedient servants are a bunch of warring thick headed Huns.

  • Amen Tex! I simply could not have said it better!

  • It's outrageous that this is what we have come to represent. George Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of the Bush administration are nothing more than common criminals and they know that Obama and the Dems are weak on this issue, so they will get away with what they did. Cheney is trying to sell his book, along with his hypocrite daughter Liz, and as long as this issue is left alone, we remain unsafe. Yes, Cheney you kept us safe except that "one time"!!! Remember 9/11???

  • Dick Cheney is a war criminal. We cannot "put this behind us" until this creature is prosecuted under the law. He is a monster. As you defend torture ask yourselves what do your children see when they look at you? Patton personally extracted information from Nazis-without torture. Grant too, in the Civil War, personally conducted interrogations. Without torture. Bush/Cheney certainly would have been impeached/tried had it not been for Lewinsky. :(

  • Anyone who wants to know how sick Cheney is you should read the book Transformation of America by Cathy O'Brien. Also did you know that many of the detainees are there because they were paying the public for turning people who were suspected terrorists. They are so poor over there that they would turn innocent people in.

  • Dick Cheney is just an S&M fetishist gone seriously overboard, I can't think of any other reason he'd defend that stuff.

  • I can honestly see it (Cheney) in a leather corset....sorry I just spit up a little in my mouth. :(
