I'm having a hell of a time getting the android SDK on my computer. It says I need Java SE installed, but there is no option for windows XP 32 bit computers. Is there a work around for people on windows 32 bit comps?
Okay, unfortunately, I searched most the web for tonight and could not find one place to help me. I have the SDK and everything, but the thing is... I do not have the temp file for the usb_driver and have no idea where or how to download it... any person willing to help I appreciate.. Thanks in advance!
@Robindahoodz this is wat i had to do... i uninstalled sdk tools, and reinstalled it, and then followed this guide word for word. Then (in device manager) make sure that the files that are being used are not in the system32 folder. It should have the yellow exclamation triangle next to "kindle" or "kindle fire". right click it, and click "update drivers". point it to the folder the .inf file is in. Do not allow it to include subfolders. It should install under "android phones" or sumthingLikThat
If you root the kindle does it keep the functionality of the amazon download capabilities and the cloud capabilities along with the android market? I want to root my Fire but I want the best of both worlds.
I know from ifixit that there is a bluetooth chip in the device, but not working with the stock OS, much like the nook color. Do you know if it is enabled after you root it?
awesome. im just wandering, since you can get the device rooted, is it possible to test for example how many multi-touch points does the device have or any kinds of testing apps? or maybe can you guys do a "deeper" review on kindle fire using those apps?
Sweet! Now only if the Fire is available in Canada the I'd get this and be happily use it for my bedtime and travel time reading and browsing... I love XDA
