Kayfabe be damned, I'd never have the balls to badmouth Bruiser Brody. That was as good of a promo as someone can deliver while being out of breath after a match.
Gino Hernandez.Man does that name bring back memories. When I was a kid in the early 80s my dad and I were wrestling fanatics. And we always loved a classy bad guy.In the nwa it was Ric Flair.AWA was Nick Bockwinkle.WWF was Bobby Heenan, and old world class had "Gentlemen Gino".When he was in his tag run with Chris Adams he had some belt and would end every interview pointing into the camera and saying "Remember I am YOUR champion!!!"For years my dad and I would say that when we talked sh$t,lol.
Gino was not destined to be on this earth that long. People say he would have been a star for twenty years or so, no, wasn't going to happen. Gino lived life fast and that was reflected in his wrestling persona, it's what made him so great. His candle burned fast, but it was brighter than any others in the business.
Man, WCCW was as cursed of a place as you can think of. I cannot think of another organization that has been filled with so much sadness and despair. I hate to put the blame on Fritz or any of the bookers, but damn...something was going on there. So many reckless decisions ended the lives of so many wrestlers who could have been so much more.
@theclitmaster666 The best one is when Booker T calls Hulk Hogan a nigga. What is funny with this one someone name Hernandez calling someone a wetback.
although wrestling is not the same as the glory days of the 80's with the territories, i enjoy watching some of the characters of today because they remind of the characters of yesterday. miz and morrison as a team remind me of hernandez and adams
I'd like to see more Southwest Championship Wrestling on here! Rare stuff. Anyone got the Killer Tim Brooks "Gonzalez" vs. Manny Fernandez feud? That be a treat...Gino was a great heel...RIP

Some guys had "it" and he had it. Out of all those WCCW deaths his was to me the most tragic.

@Rightsideup Back in the day partner just meant partner, and wetback just meant wetback. Politically Correct did not exist. Good Times.
