  • Do you think I could get this sound with the Ibanez tube scremaer?

  • @JehVolta12 Well, a tube screamer is going to help, but it's only part of the equation. To really get there you need a guitar with humbuckers, and some sort of delay pedal (almost any one will do). The gain and drive settings on the tube screamer should be moderate (about a quarter of the way up) You want to hear it, but not be overwhelmed by it.

  • Sweet rug dude! Thanks for all the help!

  • nice lesson, thanks

  • @rafstubeID Thanks, I appreciate it. Cheers.

  • @Johndrakenosix Hi mate, 1st of all great lesson, i have a question - how would i set my amp to achieve a sound close to what you have done, my guitar is a fender strat and a pretty standard amp with bass, treble, middle, gain and drive go 1 to 10? also have 2 tone knobs on the guitar, i have messed with the amp but cant get it to sound right- hope you can help

  • @drebbin1983 Hey, thanks for the kind words. The note above to tonybhoy96 pretty much tells what I have everything set at. It might be hard to get the bite needed without that Tube screamer. Noel was using that box a lot back then, if I recall correctly. While I doubt a delay pedal is absolutely necessary, you'd at least need reverb to give it some depth. Do you have reverb on your amp? Feel free to send me a private message with the details on your rig and I'll try to help you out.

  • @Johndrakenosix no mate i havnt got reverb. My amp has gain, drive , bass, middle and treble. All go from 1-10. I just wasnt sure what u meant by 1 o clock, 3 o clock etc. Oh and i have 2 tone controls on the guitar that go from 1 - 10. It doesnt have to be exact id just like the sound as good as i can get it. Id be grateful for any tips to help :)

  • @drebbin1983 I tried to post an explanation here but it was too long for the reply box, so I will send you a private message.

  • What amp settings do you use for this ?

  • @tonybhoy96 Sorry for not responding sooner. Vox AC30 CC. Top Boost channel. Bass & Trebel at 1 o'clock. Reverb at a moderate setting. Tube screamer with Drive & Gain at 3 o'clock, tone at 1 o'clock. A touch of slap back delay from a Boss Digital delay.

  • @tonybhoy96 I am very sorry, I must be dyslexic - or maybe just stupid. The Drive & Gain setting on the screamer should be around 9 o'clock (or a quarter of the way up) not 3 o'clock! The idea is to give it some edge, not blow it out with distortion. Sorry! Dang.

  • is that a gibson or epiphone ? btw great lesson thnx :)

  • @TheGoldburger It's a Gibson traditional standard. Noel Gallagher probably would not approve. Thanks for the kind words.

  • @Johndrakenosix nice but my aim in my guitar 'career' is to end up with the gibson es 355 and gibson j200 just like noel's which will cost me an arm and a leg i know but its good to have something to aim towards. keep up with the tuorials and dont forget to put more oasis ones up ;) thanx

  • @TheGoldburger Probably have another Oasis tune up in the next month or so.
