I agree but episode is out ther cause these were returned (ep 1-3) and it i think it would be better to have the actual episode but the animation would be good aswell
Wait, why didn't they give it a stand alone DVD release? I know the animation is expensive but they could just hire a company like Studio B to do Flash Animation for the missing scenes.
Far less flashy and better for it than the new Doctor. There is a more serious tone and hence it is more frightening. The original Cybermen where pretty nasty too - not caring a damm about human life.
They're both quite good; I can't imagine running this today and having it pass muster with an audience raised on CGI and post-ironic action heroes.
That said, I'm generally fonder of the original model Cybermen and Daleks; the less polished FX, as with, say, King Kong, give them an eerier, more alien "Uncanny Valley" air.
Blue Peter wiped some, but while the 4th doctor was in cast, some data was wiped then. And I tracked it with a program and it was on the tenth planet episode, so any footage of the tenth planet on youtube is actually quite rare.
The BBC should make a cartoon of the lost episode four like they did with the Invasion DVD, why did the BBC lose that episode, why did they trust Blue Peter to use it without losing it!
giles they did do that with the tenth planet but at this point its only obtainable on video, and the fourth episode is narrated by someone (from the cast i can't remember who) with photographs interlocking the narration and the video of the doctor's regeneration
I never though I spend my time viewing old series like this one, but it's fantastic, tha history of this episode it catch you even you don't want. Thanks for post it. Rafa Martell
I learned that the actor that played Bill Filer in the 'Claws Of Axos' was Canadian, which is as close to American-sounding as you can get without faking accents
@Yetaxa, oh ok! I hope they eventually find a copy of episode 4!! damn the original cyber men were creepy,,,

Wasn't this story set in 1986 and and the Invasion set in 1968?
Unless The Moonbase or Wheel in Space 'blasts' the cybermen into the past. I haven't actually seen those two.
Great clip though!!!

The Cybermen buil,t time machines; in 'Earthshock', they travel back to prevent the destruction of Mondas.

WTF where are the cybermen?!
captain0ldy0da 2 years ago
This could come out on DVD I mean it's only 1 episode to animate rather than 2 in The Invasion, so it'll be cheaper!

I love the stereotypical american General in this!
YoodellyHoo 4 years ago
American General played by an apparently talented British actor. They did this 5 years later for the Bill Filer character in 'The Claws Of Axos'

Love that one! I wish they would get actual american people to do it though.
