To believe in any religion is to accept thought that is not within our rationality. It is impossible for anything in our world to be infinite. So having said that, How do we come up with the idea of an infinite deity? Something that is finite cannot create something that is infinite. And since the finite cannot create the infinite, then it cannot understand it through its rational thought. Therefore the finite is irrational for believing in something which he cannot sense, but is there.

My brother-in-law was attacked my a demonic force some 10 years ago, he started hissing and saying that he was going to kill us all. I won't dispute that demonic possession is a real thing, and exorcism is the correct response. Confronting the supernatural in ones own might is foolishness and this episode indicates that Bobby Jindal has a distorted sense of self importance. My brother-in-law was attacked my a demonic force some 10 years ago, he started hissing and saying that he was going to kill us all. We all had to wrestle him to the ground and starting praying over him. He was sweating profusely and started foaming at the mouth. We continued to pray and quote scripture commanding the demon to leave. He finally came out of it and remembered nothing. There is a Satan and a hell and I believe he is responsible for turning sane people crazed and evil.

Hey Dustin, there is nothing crazy about me at all. I consider myself quite sane, normal and well adjusted. I do have the perception to recognize that there is evil in the world and that their is a driving force behind that evil which is Satan and his demonic buddies. Pt.1-Okay the reason why people have been saying for thousands of years that Jesus is coming is because the Bible simply lets us know that one day Christ is going to return BUT even Christ himself taught he doesn't know the day Mk.13:32 when the Father will send him back.
The TORAH is part of the BIBLE & it is not initially believing in the Bible but 1st believing in Christ & then watching his teachings come to life in your own everday life!

There is a big difference between believing in god and personally battling satan. Did you see Obama's talk on religion? Just search: obama religion. It should be the first link.
Obama, as many others, may believe in god but it does not affect his judgment. His decisions are all based on reality. When Jindal sees a friend get sick, he apparently assumes demonic possession. In other words, he has absolutely no concept of reality.

How do you know what Obama believes? A lot of people believe in god without all the nonsense in the bible. I've never heard him talk about demonic possession.
I was not there with Jindal, but I do know that his friend was not really possessed. The same way that I know Santa Claus doesn't really exist. And I am not condemning Jindal for his beliefs. I just think that a grasp of reality should be a requirement for a politician. It's a requirement to get my vote.

A lot of people read the bible but don't take it literally. I have a friend who is a devoted catholic and is currently working on a PH.D. in physics. Reading the bible does not make you insane. Performing an exorcism is another matter entirely.
You need to be a theologian to know that demonic possession is not real? Sorry. All you need is common sense.

Again, you don't know what you are talking about. All documented cases of posession are not real, but to say it isn't possible shows ignorance. Basically, you are saying the devil doesn't exist. Since you aren't a person of faith, you have little knowledge of this issue. I'd be suprised if your friend is a devout Catholic & doesn't believe in posession considering the Church's work in that field.
Your argumentation, is "I don't believe it so it can't be real." Pretty sloppy and unscholarly.

I didn't say that possession isn't possible. Just like I can't really say that Santa Claus isn't really possible. The evidence is the same in both cases, zero.
My argument isn't: "I don't believe so it can't be real".
My argument is: "There is no evidence, so I don't believe in it".
See the difference? Believing in something with no evidence does not make any sense. To take it to the level of actually performing an exorcism shows a complete lack of reality.

Actually exorcism is very rare, church only approves 1 out of every 10 thousand. Most catholics do believe in it its just very rare.
