No... Changing the opening does not equal a new season. The DVDs list Battle City Finals as Season 3 and Grand Championship/Dawn of the Duel as Season 5. Grand Championship and Battle City finals are too short to be considered a full season.

I personally thought Yugi vs. Kaiba was a much better overall duel. Yugi vs. Marik was only epic in that it involved all three of the Egyptian Gods while Yugi vs. Kaiba really kept the action going since the duel kept shifting back and forth.

yu-gi-oh really went downhill, the first season was awsome!, then the second season was the same plt with different enemy, then what was up with that virtual world!? and Noa and Gosoboro? its like they just invented the characters then and there. dont get me started on the motorcycle guys. the saving grace was the ending, a nice touch going back to the pharoes egyptian routs

also 4kids ruined the show, making it WAY to cheesy, with friendship. the japaneese version better anyday.

YES! (I'm talking about Japanese one) I didn't like season 1 much. Beleave me, it had nothing to do with the duels. I just thought it looked like a bit of a joke compaired to season 0. They also changed things in ways that didn't make sense... On the contrary, I think the overal series went uphill. I didn't like KC grand prix. Doom Oricles was well done but it had the weirdest plot, Noah's arc was ok, but it happend at a stupid time. I think the acting improved at least through the series!

the dude from GX is nothing to yugi. yugi has never lost a duel when everyone is playing properly and by the rules. he lost to seto coz seto was gonna kill himself if he lost, he lost to the dude in the 4 series coz he was corrupted and his anger got the best of him.

First of all, he NEVER beat Yugi. He never even faced off against Yugi for that matter. Jaden did duel a thief that stole Yugi's deck and mimicked Yugi in every way possible. Secondly, Yugi gave Jaden the Winged Kuriboh card in the very first episode because he recognized Jaden's potential. YuGiOh means "King Of Games". The GX in YuGiOh GX is short for "Next Generation" or "Generation Next". You get the idea. So basically that comes out to "King Of Games: Next Generation".

It gets better. Kaiba, Pegasus, and Yugi's Grandfather do make a few cameos along the way. Although it's better to watch it in original Japanese format with English subtitles if you happen to hate the English dubbed version.

I also forgot to mention that the Paradox Brothers make an appearance as well. Yugi appears in the very first episode and it's his only appearance so far. You only see Yugi from the nose down. What's odd is that Yugi has Yami's voice and build even though Yami finally recovered his memories and rested in piece in the very last episode of YuGiOh.
