For anyone considering buying this sleeping pad I strongly urge you to check out the NEMO Cosmo air for $129..packs the same size and its made of a way higher quality material that does not sound like a bag of potato chips every time you move around and it has an integrated foot pump that inflates the pad in a minute...blows away this pad in terms of quality and ease of use and it wont pop as easily as this one.

I remember when I bought this pad for going on the at, and I'm a restless sleeper- the crinkling of the pad kept us all awake and it deflated too easily I ended up ditching it there and buying a trail lite at the next outpost and I love it had it for two years and wow it worrks wonderfully no complaint on the trail lite
I think the diamond shape of the box is to facilitate packing due to the awkward position of the valve. The valve doesn't lay flat. I bought one of these pads too. Are you still happy with yours?
Another thing we could all do is go buy NeoAir mattresses and then take them back to the store.. this will result in getting them shipped back to thermarest.. if enough people take them back and enough claims are made they will take action. just save your receipt and be sure of the stores return policy before hand. tell them the thing is junk and wont hold air and was overpriced.. those reasons will get sent to thermarest. - write those complaint letters. !!!
If people wrote more complaint letters to ThermaRest and stopped buying their overpriced stuff they'd be force to lower prices. This is a nice pad but in no way would I pay that much.
As a ThermaRest old client, I am quite disappointed. I bought two NeoAir. Me and my girlfriend went camping in Greece. Both matresses got flat within 2 days. We were sleeping on a tent, on sandy sole, being careful not to leave any stone or sharp object beneath the tend. My impressione is that they got flat just for the pressure of our bodies. I can fix them with a patch, but I wonder: is it worth the effort? They are very delicate, they would get flat in the next camping session.
Hi Tinny, it is very useful video. Thank you. I looked at your work with a cooker and I love it. You're too cute. Remember that in the Czech Republic, you have lots of fans! I look forward to your next video. Take care and have a nice day! ;-)
@solobackpacking I don't want a car, so it doesn't make sense. The greed argument can go both ways. In your case, you seem to have wanted the mattress, but you were unwilling to part with your money, so I could just as easily call you greedy.
You don't get it. This is extreme profiteering. Thing probably costs less then $20 to make. You go ahead and pay your bank 100% interest. Pay $10 for a bottle of spring water. What ever makes you happy.
@solobackpacking You don't even know the difference between the words "then" and "than". I don't expect much from you, so calling me "dumb" is probably at the height of your creativity.
You must be a desperate idiots for life's credit if you want to have merit based on spelling. Based your stupid logic a handheld spell checker would be a genius.
@solobackpacking The grammar fail isn't the basis of my low expectations for you, it's simply an indicator, as I have mentioned. You also don't seem to understand that buying a product is an exchange between two parties, where both parties benefit. If you think that one is being "greedy", then don't take part in the transaction. Since many people must be taking part and if you are unwilling to part with your dollars for the mat, then you just might be the greedy one.
Your logic is so flawed and riddled with irrational personal emotions, I fear no one has ever gotten a reasonable debate with you. Besides, it seems you have had a lot more practice at rambling arguments then I have.
I have the Agnes blow up style air mat and I love it. It is a bit thicker then the rest of the air mats I have owned, Let out a bit of air and try it out in your hammock! It will keep the cold off the hind end of you and gives you a bit more comfort in the hammock
Someone has hacked into your website and I can no longer view it. When I type in your website and blank white screen pops up with some text, which I won't type. That would just tip off the hacker and he'd get creative and do something else. Just thought I'd tip you off if you don't already know this.
If you haven't heard, someone has hacked your website and I can't get on it anymore. When I type in your website I get a clear white screen with nothing on it except some wierd text. I 'm obviously not going to type what it says as everyone can then view it, including the hacker, and then he can do something different.
I have a small, and so far love it. 9oz and smaller than a beer can. If you're comfortable using your backpack as a footrest save some money, weight, and size and try the small out. FYI REI occasionally has 20% off coupons (and they have an excellent return policy for those worried about the durability).
looks nice but still like my foam rubber mats . I had inflatables my problem was after while HOLES or deterations after continued use . even in a tent

The sound from the matt is HORRIBLE, it would rise the dead everytime the person on it moves. It is as sleaping on o bunch of plastic bags.

I have the EMS Crash Pad and it has blown away every other model I've tried, including Thermarests. Check it out!
icychap 2 years ago
Disagree with you. The EMS Crash Pad is 20 oz heavier, 1.5in thinner inflated, and more than half the size when packed.
EMS is a good starter pad, its cheap and will do the job. You should eventually upgrade if you give a damn about everything mentioned above.
