still luv Waylon...saw him at Red Rocks Amptheatre in 78 n it rained so Jesse came out n played piano did "I'm Not Lisa" it was totally awesome...Chris Kristoferson wasn't on the bill n he came out n sang when it was raining to. I'll never forget it
waylon jennings willie nelson johnny cash and hank williams sr were all pioneers and bad asses i would not want to mess with they sure played some tough places in the years. i miss this form of country
Not a country or a Waylong Jennings fan, but there is something about this song that has me coming back to it over and over again... of those 53k hits 3k of them are mine.
"lord i got a good woman whats the matter with me? what makes me wanna love every woman i see?" "every woman she see's looks like i place i came in" love those lines right there. however my wife gives me a dirty look from time to time when i play this cuz that happend to her at the bar. guess i should have taken it a little slower on the past. lol
Been a huge fan of his for 2 years. I wish I would have known about him growing up. To not be able to ever see him play or shake his hand is truly heart-breaking. His autobiography is one of the best books I have ever read. Amazing story, amazing singer, and an amazing man.
I saw Waylon perform in person many times from the 70's right through the 90's. The DVDs come pretty close to what you'd see and hear at a concert. Saw him once at Max's Kansas City Club in NYC...small room, second row seat, unbelievable evening. I am glad you enjoy his music. Lots of good tracks and albums out there. White Mansions is special... his "audio biography" you just have to hear, if you haven't already. BTW, steel guitarist Ralph Mooney, passed away May 20, 2011. RIP Ralph
I remember the first time I heard this song, this bar in Texas had a band and they did a great cover of this song. I have always really liked it since than. Thanks for posting hrtmike17!!!
Just plain, simple, Waylon. God must have broke the mold after he made Waylon cause there has never been anyone who can strum it and tell it like he did.
well i woke up this morning it was drizzling rain around the curb come a passenger train heard somebody yoddling a hobo moan Jimmy he's dead he's been a long time gone
Love this song, I heard if first on Scarface the game, while killing flocks of coke lords.. Got my name painted on my shirt, I ain't no ordinary dude I ain't have to work lol...
