  • i ut m fier i ter it didn hrt istil tpy li it ther

  • One mournful multi-toner, this Gents is.

  • you should do that during a thunderstornm

  • car! VROOOOOM!!!!!!!

  • @Taojac I'm pretty sure it would hurt after a little while.....

  • That would hurt to put your finger in the side holes.

  • @jma111000 no it wouldent im pretty sure you wouldent feel a thing, it would chop em clean off.

  • @jma111000 ORLY?!

  • I like these old Gents, very old , wish I had one.

  • Quad or tri tone?

  • these are amazing juiced up correctly,

  • This is duel toned.

  • i hate this siren model it's sounds

    bad!

  • @amitvsdaniel Thats because his drill can't rev it up to speed. Once it's up to full RPM it sounds a lot better

  • you got one hell of a

    cool hobby man not bad

for a antec and still works

    thaos other vids you had

are cool you know thos sirens have a sound of

    thare own

  • could all ways try a old bench grinder the spin it up there pretty fast and got good torque

  • its great and i love the growl to

  • Do you think it would get the kids awake in the morning and ready for school?

  • i want one!!!!!

  • Port Ratio???

  • 10/12/15

  • @zozey1231 LOL you really like sirens don't you?

I found you in almost all siren videos ¬_¬

  • It's not even loud!!!

  • It didn't go to its climax of volume.

  • Correct, at that distance severe damage or complete loss of hearing would result if the siren was powered by 400+ 3-phase power. Surely this is obvious?

  • @riggerparish Very obvious

  • he would know :D he has other videos where he runs it at its peak power! love this siren though!!

  • Wat is the difference between 3 phase and 2 phase and wat does it mean anyway

  • There is no such thing as 2 phase just single and three phase power. It has to do with how an Alternating Current overlaps, there is a pretty good description on Wikipedia.

  • thanks

  • There is 2-phase but it isn't used because 3-phase and single phase works far better.

  • i really would like this type of siren i live in ny and if anybody could tell where i can get one i would appreciate it.

  • ebay.. ust watch there like once a week

  • I checked ebay ,BUTT(LOL)no results

  • :-) I doubt you will find any.

  • @riggerparish i found 2 model 5s if that helps

  • whats wrong with the motor in the middle of the thing?

  • provably runs 3 phase and he dosent have 3 phase

  • FOUR TONES o_O

  • Actually 3 tones. Two of the rotors have the same port ratio.

  • how long did it tack to referbish this siren and do you have a control panal oh and how much did the siren cost

  • could I get one in ny state?

  • how/where do you get those?!?

  • you didnt answer the question

  • Look out, doing that too long with a model starter might overheat the motor, that things windings and rotors are A LOT bigger than the starters windings or any propeller that motor will ever start, looks great, I'm gonna get one to piss off my neighbors >:-D

  • @rednecksinspace same i will buy 1 to piss my mom an dad

  • @rednecksinspace hey why do you want to piss off your nighbors so bad

  • @rednecksinspace ur evil but i like that i need the loudest airraidsiren in the world

  • @rednecksinspace use an automotive starter

  • how many ecibels u think

  • cant spell *decibells*

  • me too i am most fascinated by the double hole take and the stator is cool

  • where do you get that

  • wtf?!!? where did you get that i want to piss off my neighbors!! (i have a nuclear siren thingy) :)

  • Would it be louder without those stator end plates?

    Wonderful musical chord.

Try to keep it at a steady RPM so we can hear the notes.

    Wonderful siren. Thank you.

  • On the windup it sounds like someone is manually turning a record slowly.

  • Whats a 3-phase elecrticty anyway?

  • 3 phase is where there is a 120° differential between supply lines.

  • wat the bleep does that mean?????

  • There are 3 live wires in a 3 phase supply line.

The sine wave in each AC line is 120° out of phase with the other lines.

  • are you like a siren genius

  • No. A siren enthusiast.

  • ok

    so....

    is thier like a difference.

i mean im not called a computer enthusiast.

  • Because, helloooooo, a genius is someone who's very scientifically and/or logically smart beyond normal, but specifically born that way. A person doesn't have to be this to be an enthusiast. An enthusiast is just someone who's really interested in something and likes to explore the subject. Also, someone doesn't have to be an enthusiast in something to be a genius.

  • Duh, he said no already!

  • The motor is powered by 3-phase electricity. It is good (for my neighbours) that do not have 3-phase power at home.

  • why is it so hard to just power the siren? multiple phade

  • whoops. meant "multiple phase?"

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I am not really sure, Robert. If you added the area of these holes together, I do not think you would be left with much less of an area than an other Carter, with typical end-plates.

I think the only difference with this one is that the inner stators (facing the motor) have 6 holes, too! This along with the rotors each having 5 holes in an identical configuration with the holes on the end plates. Apart from the central one, obviously.

  • Why those restrictive holes on the end plates?

To balance out volume of outside rotors with those inside? Thank you.

  • to make the sound. the rotator inside blows air through it an 'cut' the air at the same time. so if the frequency is high enough you will hear a sound. the faster it runs the higher the sound. sorry for my english maybe you have to ask an english or american mate :)

  • Good to see it together and ready to roll :-)

  • Gr8 job on the restoration! Should sound gr8 on the day 8)

  • Don't you fret. This is coming... I don't exactly have 3-phase coming out of my sockets, mate! Lifting this thing and transporting it is a logistical nightmare, needs at least three men to deliver it safely. Possibly more.

  • what a nice piece of kit and well done on the restoration, now come on rigger stop pis++ng about, you have prooved you can power up the motor correctly, let us hear it on full run as it was intended please :-)

  • Yes, Crownhill, you are right there! This syren alerted of Luftwaffe attacks... very much as yours did. This alone, is a valid reason to ensure it remains functional... like I need a reason ;-)

Thanks for your tips along the way, your videos inspired me to carry out this restoration.

    Hurray for Gents'.

  • The Gents syrens are testimony to the Engineering

of the day,as this is 60+ years old and will last another 60 years well Done, next the live run.

  • Is it a dual shaft motor?
