On this one I monitored the mix with the mixer, Traktor can be set up to send 2 pairs of outputs to the mixer like this (a pair being 1 left and 1 right channel ie stereo, like headphones, sound in each ear) or you can have a master out without using a mixer and a monitor button which could be set to either channel or a mix / combination of them both. You don't need a mixer with the xone 1d as you can use it to do the mixer function but you really need at least a 4 channel sound card.
@taximusicman Thanks! I just got a Denon SC2000, but couldn't find any info about soundcard and prelistening the mixed version of the songs. Can buy an Audio4 or 6 savely now. ;)
Just wondering, do you prelisten with the soundcard or with the mixer? And if you prelisten with the soundcard, is it possible to prelisten the mix? Something i just can't figure out about the external soundcard, if prelistening channels at the same time is possible..
@DjCBeatzzz The Audio 4 dj soundcard routes the audio to the mixer, bear in mind the denon does nothing with the audio signal, it handles the midi operation only.
Hey man, great mix! Just a question..I have the same hardware bar the mixer and including the macbook and i'm just curious how you achieve 3 usb ports (for 1D, Sc2000 and soundcard?) can the X1D and Sc2000 share a usb port? Cheers
@matthill163 Yea with a powered usb hub, i'm also recording with a webcam off the mac at the same time, now I have 2 Denon's so not using the 1d just a pioneer mixer, check out a couple of my mixes on minkeymusic
@mrelmitso There both good, it depends on how your gonna use it, ive got 2 denon's now but have been playing out with just the xone 1d, laptop and soundcard just to keep it simple, you'll enjoy the way the denon acts like a cdj with extra's but the xone is a real universal bit of kit that i use with Ableton elswell, not much help sorry there both good.
@mrelmitso you have to see your music genre... i think that if you play tech house or similiar you don't need the jog... the dnsc 2000 has been done for cdj's djs who want to have the feeling with the jog but at the same time wanted to take a digital way... if i were u i'd take another X1 or a 1D... with a 1d and one X1 you can control 4 deck without problem.. ;)
Pioneer mixer used for external mixing mode in Traktor and the delay effect, Denon Dn-sc 2000 used to control traktors 2 decks when it changes from red to blue the other deck is being controlled, 2 deck mixing only, Xone 1d faders on the right set up to do a filter low cut sweep mapped to Traktor and jogwheel used to search through and preview my tracks quickly.
trying to figure out your setup. you definitely use the DJM400 in analog mixer mode with a few external effects. you use two layers on the SC2000 but it also looks like you maybe use the 1D as a deck controller (maybe slider on the right for pitch). Or is the 1D used as the midi mixer controller for Traktor? Are you using 3/4 decks in traktor for this mix?
@ifiendelectro You need some way to adjust the levels, you can either use a mixer or a midicontroller I would recommend a midi controller of some sort, like the xone 1d or similar, theres lots out there to choose from, but yes you will need a sound card with 2 stereo outputs to mix properly.
would the sc2000 + the denon x600 mixer/soundcard be a solid option? I don't really want to be generic and go with the s4 as everyone seems to be. plus i feel like in the end this has more expandability in combination with another/a better mixer
@ifiendelectro An external mixer isn't essential, but it does make things alot easier. You could map the FX knobs to control the EQ, and map some other buttons to control the channel faders. Atleast you can do that with the Kontrol X1, so I presume that is possible with the SC-2000 too. It's not optimal though. You don't need a soundcard if you buy a digital mixer like the Denon DN-X600, but an analogue mixer + soundcard is more affordable.
@burn5495 not like a pioneer no, they are very sensitive, if you move them a slight bit they send a signal but there is no signal outputted if you place a hand on the top if you know what i mean.
I can't see any point in buying a cd player when the midi controller is so good personally. With a midi controller if you do not want say perhaps the 2 buttons for vinyl bend to the left of the jog wheel because you use the jog wheel for bend you can change them as I have to beat jump up or down 8 beats, much more sensible. So yea i'd buy the Denon over a cd every time.
2nd, totally agree no reason to own cdj's anymore esp if you where already gonna run traktor etc. Im only torn on picking up 2 of these sc2000 or the otus, I mean really for the price you can get 1 otus or 2 of these and cover all 4 of your channels on your mixer w/ traktor pro, any thoughts would be awsome, since no place /anyone I know personally can let me try either of these around me.
i am thinking of buying one of this denon 2000 but do you recommend it?? i wanna play electro house through traktor and i dunno if this is better solution than cd players with midi control.. pls reply. thx
It will work as a midi controller, if you wanted to assign all the buttons to another program it would take a while but yes you could do that.

Great Mix, Have you used the DN MC600 and if so what would u suggest for the mobile setup the SC200 or the 6000?
DJKNYCE 7 months ago
@DJKNYCE Ive got 2 Dnsc-2000's now but if you can afford the 6000 you would have a great mobile setup. thanks for your comment.

@69brooo69 it's not an effect. The song is just like that. It's the Afrojack remix of Barbara Streisand

Hi @taximusicman, Great mix!
I am thinking of getting a SC2000 next year but need to try one out before buying...
My question is: what is that first track you played?
I tried Shazam and came up "Tomorrow" but you seem to have an instrumental (non electro) version I can't find anywhere...

and the jogwheels on this denon are not touch sensitive?
