  • Couldn't you put a cool cloth somewhere on the tube to speed it up?

  • petty nice craftsmanship

  • @TheCommuted

    thanks !

  • @beac310

To put it simple, think of the steel wool as a delay line for the sound wave.

Google for "Thermoacoustic hot air engine" for further explaination.

  • Really nice engine. Looks beautiful!

  • @ohiovr

Thanks, give it a try and build your own !

  • @orangmakan Looks like real craftsmanship.. Not easily done..

  • I like the nice and clean design of your engine. Could you post a link to the plans you have used? I would like to try building one myself.

  • @MrSoftseek

    thanks, see updated description

  • Thanks for the link! Very good details.

Ich wusste, dass es sich irgendwann mal auszahlt, wenn man noch etwas deutsch spricht. Danke.

  • @MrSoftseek

    :-D

try to beat the gold plated "luxus" version...

  • hi, how did you make the piston? material and some istruction

    thanks

  • answered just 5 posts below ...

  • Laziness and cheapness, often work better than highly engineered and expensive. I am a huge fan of the simple solution, good job!

  • A true joy to watch this! Thanks for posting.

  • What is made by the piston?Ceramic?

  • Hi, piston and cylinder are a cutted syringe, both made from Glas.

  • Very nice design, I particularly like the two

brass rods holding the main bearings.

  • Thank you, this was born from three reasons:

    - i am lazy

    - i do not have too many time to spend

    - i do not own a mill

So, this is what came out as a rather simple solution :-)

  • Pretty! :)

  • Thanks !

  • Where can I get any plans for making this engine?

  • thanks ...

  • I'm with Jule553648 - where can I get plans? I see lots of videos of engines people have built, but no online plans. I'm fascinated by your glass piston too. Could you possibly show the components and how they were made?

  • Hello, there are many books that you can buy online that tell how to make these engines, or you may also go to any university and ask any professor at the mechanical engineering department. You have to know that to design an engine is not an easy task at all.

  • @morza05

hi, thank you for jumping in.

TheAtmdad has received a private mail that points him to the url of the plans.

You are completely right, the *design* of such an engine is difficult - but reproduction of this engine type from plans is by far more easy.

There have been eleven year old children here on youtube who did it !

  • Really nice too. Cheers -Mike

  • COOL
