Great tutorial, thanks. As for Vegas lagging, I had that happen for me in the preview too (VMS HD Platinum 10), until I adjusted the preview to play at the exact framerate of the recording. Now it works frame by frame even in full+best quality. Great for editing as well as grabbing .png screens.

This is for H.264 recordings 60fps from PS3 btw, using Hauppauge HDPVR. Although the bitrate on the device's software is limited to 13.5, perhaps because it uses USB 2.0. I'll have to try it with this program.

@GrimPigeon1 Make sure your source is outputting the same resolution as what you chose in the program. For example, if your XBox 360 is outputting in 1080i, but you're trying to record in 720p, you are going to get that green screen.

he is using the AverTV HD DVR which is far superior to the Dazzle its about $200 i have the hauppauge HD PVR which is about the same price. The dazzle is in SD these 2 cards are in HD so that's why your dazzle looks bad.

To clarify, I've got the same card as you and have hooked it up to my PS3 via HDMI. I've set the PS3 to output 720p, and I followed each one of your steps here. However, I get nothing but a black box in this program. Are you certain this works for the PS3?

@Jyosua You can't use the PS3 and record via HDMI. The PS3 has something called HDCP. It's basically HD copy protection. To by pass this you must use component cables.

@zlALEXlo I'm well aware of that. However, this card has an exploit that allows you to record from HDCP devices. It requires a specific driver apparently to get it to work. That aside, I've tried using component cables and couldn't get it to work that way.

Hey if you are recording in 720p @ 60 frames per second but you can only upload to youtube videos that are in 30 frames per second woudnt it be better to just put in at the start 720p at 30 frames per second that way you can save youself some space when you record? and becuase you suggested to use the hdmi splitter it wouldnt affect the quality of your gameplay because your playing on a different screen with a different conenction??
