Not necessarily, PC games can pull out more frames(given a good enough computer) and can generally look better overall because game visuals can't be changed in console games and are set at the correct settings to make it run at a steady framerate, when on PC games, you can set your setting to very high, 8xAA and max shadows and either have a perfect framerate, or a very slow one. so all sides have their things, computers you have to be knowledgeable in them, and consoles are limited graphically.

It let's developers store more data onto it, which can potentially lead to better graphics with more powerful shaders, lighting, etc.

Better graphics of coruse instead of them being on you know 2 or 3 discs which have to be downgraded. So yeah. Ps3 blu-ray does help alot with graphics. But that a-little bit in terms of quality. Plus ps3 has a btter cpu/Gpu so Ps3 wins. No if only dev would take aadvantge of it.

These are little graphics differences that the Video game designers put in because of the 360's lack of a good graphics card. You half to remember that the 360 is a older system now. PS3 has a better graphics card in it. These changes are designed for maximum performance boost without sacrificing graphics very much. This is why I decided to not get a 360 because a new one is bound to come out soon. I stick with Computer games using a GTX 260 graphics card. way superior to PS3 and 360 combined.

xbox live games are ran off of others consoles, therefore there will be lag. Ps3 runs most games on dedicated servers, there for no lagg to minumal lag is caused. That is why they are releasing MAG for the ps3. its the console that can hold 256 players online.

yeah console nuts don't know what they are talking about when they say Console is better. and with PC you can play on User Created Maps (which is like taking a game and multiplying it by 3 right there alone) and mouse & keyboard is much better, I think anyone that prefers using a controller is stupid, lol and they seem to think using M&K is difficult. M&K is much more natural feeling that using a stupid controller, smoother & more accurate as well, or I could play games with my mind too :-)

i like the fact that the xbox is brighter. for me it enhances the idea of the city being clean and monitered. but the ps3 does have better skin rendering. if you take the pc version however, the have managed to utilise fabric into the gameplay, so if you shoot it, it would tear accordingly, along with a miriad of other things, which perk up the game.

These scenes are not pre-rendered, they're played back live by the console. As in, all that stuff ocurrs in-engine and is rendered on the fly. I captured in HD in Final Cut Pro via an AJA Kona 3 card (consoles connected via component to a Folsom ImagePRO HD which converted to SDI). The split was done in Final Cut, moved back and forth by keyframing the "crop" property.

If you arnt given control of the character you should assume they're pre-rendered and unless your on the development team, there's no way you could know for sure that they're not. now you could be right however i played it safe by using bona-fide gameplay comparison, hard to get them to match up since you need to do the same run on both consoles but when it works it pays off.

True, I'm not 100% sure, but as someone who works in the industry and is familiar with video, I can say I'm 99% sure that this footage is NOT pre-rendered. Firstly, comparing raw, uncompressed HD of the two reveals none of the compression artifacts synonymous with delivery of HD video. Even at high bitrates, lossy compressed video will display some artifacts from that process. You can see this in the animated intro and the "buy our game" outro portion.

Secondly, the rate and lighting differences indicate that this is being done in the console-specific engine for the game on each platform. The outro video on both platforms are exactly the same (even down to artifacting), indicating that asset was "produced once, deployed twice." This is not the case with any of the first level intro material. Duplicating work isn't in vogue in any development house, so I can only assume that this footage is, in fact, "live" and not pre-rendered.
