Fighting , friendship treason, idealism (from Cable) nihilism ( from Stryfe), so much things to do rather than the same stuff with Prof X/ Magneto, hell even Wolverine is not used properly.

I did some research online and it looks like they will be sticking with the U-Men as the main villains for awhile (possibly the entire 1st Season).
The U-Men are kinda interesting and creepy, but I want to see the A-List badguys (the ones from the 90's Fox version). This anime version has the potential to be cool if they do things right.
As a big fan of X-Men cartoon from the 90's this looks awesome seriously the art is well done and I like the look of the characters. I approve of this series.

@video3201 the '90's X-Men produced by Saban Entertainment was animated at Philippine Animation Studios Inc. a couple of friends of mine were working on it a few years before I started training at Toei Animation Philippines. I don't know if the studio was ever credited though, because a lot of the episodes had to be redone elsewhere because deadline constraints were affecting the quality of the animation adversely.

The introductory season was ok. I didn't like how useless storm was in this series, I mean I dont get it. It seemed like they just gave her lighting and thats it. Not 1 tornado, the anime was ok tho. Hopefully season 2 will be much better....

Thx Japan now this series looks good now. Rogue and Jean Grey they are Over Power character and they know it. @sky9ross its a new storyline, so the love triangle is rather passe. It doesn't even exist much anymore in recent X-men or in Astonishing, which the roster is derived from. Storm is still effective as she's the only AOE expert in that team while Cyclops continues to be adamant. Plus I figure her abilities are only as good as her location. She may be omega level, but she's no thor who can infinitely summon lightning as his element as opposed to manipulating weather to his favor.

@sky9ross didn't really bother me, if you are talking about the end of ep 2 where logan was all telling scott to chill out then in ep 3 when they meet emma, wolverine gets the urge to murder her. Storm wasn't worthless. She's the only caster of the group and flyer. Sure she's not taking the limelight from scott or wolverine in terms of combat but I don't get where you think she's worthless. Maybe they seem useless because there isn't anyone worth fighting so far.
@sky9ross Wolverine is the only real melee master they have, and he gets the spotlight. Cyclops is underpowered and rarely shows why he's the leader (and rightfully so in Astonishing X-men). Beast actually shows shows he can hold his own a bit. Its no different from the comics pal. So I honestly don't know where you are coming from with this Japanese inferiority when Warren Ellis helped in crafting the story for this series.

Considering the current plot and the length of the show, I doubt characters like Stryfe, Juggernaut, Mystique, Magneto shown in this video will make an appearance.

But you can't have X-men if you don't have such staples as Magneto and Juggernaut. I feel Mystique would be making appearances every now and then but would not have any major role. Aside from Mastermind, they would surely be facing the Dark Phoenix again so along the way there would always be a familiar villain thrown in. I HOPE MISTER SINISTER WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED.

Especially since being a long-time Marvel fan, I do find this a very refreshing take on Astonishing X-men. I am sure there are many others who feel the same way. Yeah...But Blade tv series is planned after 12 episodes of this show. BTW, Blade might make a short guest appearance, considering the patterns in previous two Marvel Anime series. Logan making a guest appearance in an Iron Man episode, Cyclops making a guest appearance in a Wolverine episode...
No, I think Blade will just make a short appearance in X-Men, probably making sudden appearance and cut down some U-Men, and then go deal with vampires in his own series.
@Slayton1978 I actually hope its all different. We've seen the classics come and maybe they can show up and then a bigger threat looms that even they are split as well. You are right its based off the Astonishing X-men roster (sans kitty and Collosus) with Storm as an add-on, but they can do a none classic x-men villain storyline and still hit a home run with it, like Whedon's rut on that.

I am thinking Storm's powers are nerfed because the enemy is using something that limits the mutant power

@sky9ross its a new storyline, so the love triangle is rather passe. It doesn't even exist much anymore in recent X-men or in Astonishing, which the roster is derived from. Storm is still effective as she's the only AOE expert in that team while Cyclops continues to be adamant. Plus I figure her abilities are only as good as her location. She may be omega level, but she's no thor who can infinitely summon lightning as his element as opposed to manipulating weather to his favor.

@sky9ross didn't really bother me, if you are talking about the end of ep 2 where logan was all telling scott to chill out then in ep 3 when they meet emma, wolverine gets the urge to murder her. Storm wasn't worthless. She's the only caster of the group and flyer. Sure she's not taking the limelight from scott or wolverine in terms of combat but I don't get where you think she's worthless. Maybe they seem useless because there isn't anyone worth fighting so far.

Hisako not controlling her powers is explained and makes sense, as stupid as the David hall syndrome is.
Jean committed 'suicide' in the dark phoenix storylines.
Also, Storm's powers are limited to her willpower and strength. So as much as she's an omega level mutant, she's not totally demi-god tier.

@sky9ross Wolverine is the only real melee master they have, and he gets the spotlight. Cyclops is underpowered and rarely shows why he's the leader (and rightfully so in Astonishing X-men). Beast actually shows shows he can hold his own a bit. Its no different from the comics pal. So I honestly don't know where you are coming from with this Japanese inferiority when Warren Ellis helped in crafting the story for this series.

Considering the current plot and the length of the show, I doubt characters like Stryfe, Juggernaut, Mystique, Magneto shown in this video will make an appearance.

But you can't have X-men if you don't have such staples as Magneto and Juggernaut. I feel Mystique would be making appearances every now and then but would not have any major role. Aside from Mastermind, they would surely be facing the Dark Phoenix again so along the way there would always be a familiar villain thrown in. I HOPE MISTER SINISTER WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED.

Hum... I think the ending is just introducing X-Men related characters in the Marvel Universe to Japanese audience. Considering the plot with U-Men, I doubt any of these guys will make actual appearance (especially Stryfe).

True...but I just hope the Marvel would extend the series to beyond 12 episodes. I wanna keep my hopes up on this. Especially since being a long-time Marvel fan, I do find this a very refreshing take on Astonishing X-men. I am sure there are many others who feel the same way. Besides, the Japanese studio can go all out with the universe and create a story of their own.

Yeah...But Blade tv series is planned after 12 episodes of this show. BTW, Blade might make a short guest appearance, considering the patterns in previous two Marvel Anime series. Logan making a guest appearance in an Iron Man episode, Cyclops making a guest appearance in a Wolverine episode...

@Slayton1978 I actually hope its all different. We've seen the classics come and maybe they can show up and then a bigger threat looms that even they are split as well. You are right its based off the Astonishing X-men roster (sans kitty and Collosus) with Storm as an add-on, but they can do a none classic x-men villain storyline and still hit a home run with it, like Whedon's rut on that.
