Oil is a finite resource. Most of the Oil Iran has is sold for export. Nuclear power is a better alternative to fossil fuels, as by the latest estimates, there is only about 30 years' worth of fossil fuels left. Not only that, but nuclear power is a lot safer and cleaner than any oil power-station.

The war was illegal, and in defiance of the U.N., who concluded that there had been no breech of the mandate set down for Iraq. And the U.S. does need the oil, as the majority of the world's oil is in the middle-east.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Saddam Hussein would have been well aware of Iraq's military capability. The U.N. inspectors were given the full cooperation of the Iraqi government, and still found no W.M.D.s. Surely if Iraq did have W.M.D.s, they would have used them against the invading armies? Anyone see the flaw in the U.S. and U.K. logic?

There is one major difference here: We are a lot more powerful than them. He thought he would win because he had W.M.Ds... but he didn't. Look at it this way:
- Saddam says he has W.M.D.s
- The U.S. now has an obligation to get rid of them.
- So we say "you give us the WMDs or we'll invade"
- He doesn't give them to us and he starts getting his armies ready.
He wouldn't have told us he had WMDs if he didn't think he did. Why would he want us to invade?

Even if Saddam made these claims, it would probably only have been bluster. Oh, here's a fun fact: The report that said that Iraq had WMDs? It was a theoretical paper written by a student who was extrapolating the effect that Iraq with WMDs would have on the world. I cannot speak for the U.S., but it was revealed in Britain last year.

The war was about the oil trade. Not about getting oil, but about changing the dealing of oil back to the dollar. Saddam changed all the oil dealings in Iraq to the Euro, and since the U.S.'s economy depends heavily on the petro-dollar, then if people stopped dealing oil in dollars, the U.S. economy would collapse.

The Petro-Euro was better for the economy of Iraq than the Petro-Dollar, as it is worth more. And now Iran is looking at changing to the Petro-Euro: Guess what country is going to be invaded next? Except Bush probably won't, since Iran actually HAS W.M.D.s. One can only hope that Saudi-Arabia, the alrgest producer of Oil, changes to the Petro-Euro.

Oil is a finite resource. Most of the Oil Iran has is sold for export. Nuclear power is a better alternative to fossil fuels, as by the latest estimates, there is only about 30 years' worth of fossil fuels left. Not only that, but nuclear power is a lot safer and cleaner than any oil power-station.
