Actually, 1,100 were killed on the Finnish-German side and 1,100 MIA in the Battle of Tali-Ihantala. Russians casualties were about 5,000 dead.

What an awful hodge-podge excuse for a film, half the material is modern re-enactment, most of the rest could be from anywhere on the eastern front. The author has even included footage of German paras and mountain troops, maybe that footage was shot in Crete 1941? Only one aerial shot appears to show the Blue Hills, the only redeeming feature. The history told by Mart Laar that G.hill fell, and that Mäitla and his company took the hill back "alone", is not exactly true.
G.hill where actually never taken. Foreign Waffen-SS soldiers who stood in front of the hill, have told me this, even if it was very close the 29.07. Maitla did a fine job that day, but that did also Hermann von Salsa group and the danish regiment.
Laar is not a historian, but a politican who want to make his nation proud. Fair enough, but truth should be truth.

Well, Laar doesn't really hush up other nations' participation in battles at Narwa front. He just centers on actions of Estonian units. Of course, all the nations defending the Grenadier Hill did a fine job and no one sacrified himself more than others.

You clearly have no idea, this battle had nothing to do with genocide committed by the Nazis. These people had to choose the lesser of two evils. Estonia had suffered for more than 750 years of wars and occupations by its eastern neighbour. So it was either Nazi Germany or the Soviets.
