neways im planning to dye a rainbow spiral shirt and i was wondering how long do i have to wait from when i stop dying until i can take out the rubber bands?

  • hahahaha he was probably like, "OH SHIT GREEN DOESN'T GO THERE" :D

  • Is food coloring okay?

  • Very cool time lapse video. Even cooler was your cat! :)

    Well done.

  • amazing!

I love the the syringe idea, instead of dipping the fabric in-

is there a science to how much dye you will be usuing?

you seemed to end up with the perfect amount!

Also, at the beginning, it seemed like you were spending alot of time wrapping the fabric in thread- were you sewing it? or just wrapping carefully?

    =]

  • You can figure out how much die to use by experiments first with water. After you determine the volume of liquid the material will absorb you divide by 6 if you are doing a rainbow with equal amounts of each color...

No sewing, just took a while to tie it. That was a big piece. Good luck.

  • woahhh what kind of dye did you use. and if they dont have it do you have any other dyes that you would recomend that would work as well as yours did??

  • Any cold water fiber reactive dye will do. The brand I used was Dharma. Good Luck.

  • Dharma is still in biz for sure, your work is amazing! I am wondering if you use a mordant ?

  • What the fuck is that cats gaaame

  • thats cool

  • sweet :D

  • this is really cool! what products did you use?

  • Use cold water fiber reactive dye. Mine are from a company called Dharma. I bought a large quantity of powder many years ago so I don't know if they are still in buisness.
