  • I'd bet the reason why they never gave credit to the company that built the rockets is because it is probably good ol ATK or formally known as Thiokol who would not want another publicized rocket failure. I fail to see what they did wrong that could have caused the rockets to explode. Frankly this company is lucky it was mythbusters and not some telecom company with a 100 million dollar satellite strapped to that garbage.

  • 240p? more like 1p

  • nice fireworks lol

  • 3...2...1...We have...detonation?

  • The nly mith I hope they would actually revisit.

Was such and epic fail and super anticlimax when whole episode waiting this and then...bum! :'''(

Please Mythbusters, your episode 200 is coming up. What better myth than this to redo then :D

  • And that's what happens when you forget to turn the flux capacitor on...

  • The best US company to built rockets is not that good. They owe the Mythbusters a new try for this myth.

  • Adam kinda looks like cuck norris here. :p

  • nice quality

  • Dean Winchester from Supernatural don't like this video

  • 03:20 Epic fail in 3...2...1...

  • Thats what raw horse power looks like.

150 MPH = about top speed of the v8 it originally came with

all these rockets = stock engine xD

PS Scotti is my girl ;D

  • @BumbleBeeGS yea 150mph from the bottom of the ramp to the tip, which is like 10 to 150 in less then a second.

  • @Kennett17 No they only said it would have been going 150 at the end of the ramp and they towed it up to 60

  • @BumbleBeeGS Ok from the bass of the ramp where it is going 60 to the tip of the ramp it is going 150. So it accelerates 90 within less then a second. Not only that but they said it would keep gaining more speed during lift. So the rockets = no where near stock engine.

  • its not an impala its a caprice

  • You record this with a calculator?

  • cant belive they just trashed my dream car, wasnt the fastback but still.

  • This was incredibly sad for Mythbusters... all of that work... and it was WW2 in a second.

  • I feel bad for the car.

  • Poorly made rockets

  • episode 5x21 super sized myths if any one wants to see the 2 hours

  • at part one i was wonderin' why no ne dared to drive it.. and at part 2....thats why they didn't put a driver.

  • @jpogita Even if it had worked, who the hell would want to drive a rocket car and crash into a mountain anyway? Although someone did, according to Darwin Awards...

  • Im pretty sure...that had the car been up to speed BEFORE the rockets went off...that wouldnt have happened. Too much flame enveloped the car all at once. That car needed to be doing at LEAST, 120 MPH before the rockets ignited.

  • The reason it's a '67 Impala because it's the car type specified in the myth....they needed to use one to fit the parameters of the myth

  • Why not take a honda civic or something? WHY a '67 Impala?

  • Oh god that pissed me off and bought a tear to my eye that poor Impala

  • flop flop flop !

  • Is there gonna be another try or something? Want to see that work!

  • they are approaching major film budget and logistics here...

  • If you want to see a rocket car fly you should watch a UK programme called Top Gear, it ended in an explosion like Mythbusters but they did get the car in the air and I think it did look more impressive than the Mythbusters rock car even if it would have worked.

  • I saw this on Discovery y'day and felt so sorry for them after all the prep they did.

  • ATK warned you Myth Busters Don't over pack the rockets they will blowup

  • they r the cause of global warming lol

  • @kooldude619rey Global warming isn't real you dumbass.

  • @DakotaZ162 how did you guys get to global warming from watching this video?

  • @DeWellstein Look at his comment and you'll understand.

  • @DakotaZ162 global climate change is totaly real go ask a scientist

  • @oddstuff123 Ahahahahaha, you obviously aren't aware of the thousands of scientists that were paid to NOT speak out against it, but alright have your opinion.

  • @DakotaZ162 i do have my opinion and it is fact

  • @oddstuff123 You are truly a dumbass. xD

  • note to self, dont buy rockets from their supplier

  • are you sh**ing me? thats the coolest thing you can do with a impala

  • Thats not a cool thing to do an impala

  • as much as i h8 impalas, they could of chosen a honda or toyota.

  • R.I.P.

  • qualitiy sucks

  • Lemme guess, USR motors?

  • What the ****??? Over pressurization what type of rocket fuel did they use???? Test, Estes E rocket motors.

  • ROFLMAO!

    You're my hero, TMR!

  • S+ Power Rocket Motors!!!!

  • caprice and impalas are basically the same thing

  • ya the only difference is the motor size thts the only difference caprice has 327 impala has a 350

  • exactly

  • That is a 1967 Caprice..........

  • LMAO the gloves!

  • what car is it?

  • impala

  • 1967 Chevy Impala

  • better luck next time

  • "I think someone owes me $10,000..."

  • wow fail

  • "oh look the suspension is still good"

  • that suked...i expected sooo much more

  • too bad for the car tough, it's wort allot of money in europe, but anyway; great fun!!

  • lol 10m stunt

  • fail

  • Too low speed at rocket ignition, they should have used the rockets from last time to speed up the car first, then turn on the power rockets.

  • and use hydrogen and oxygen that is ignited as fuel......

  • how would that have helped? The rocket engines misfired and blew up. I don't think an increase in speed would have helped.

  • dude the rockets explode didnt matter

  • @surfin7

the problem look like it was just bad bomb

  • darn

  • small rockets like that would never get the car in the air. even if it worked the aerodynamics of the car would cause the whole experiment to fail by crashing right back to the ground. notice most cars generate a "negative" lift to press the car to the ground at higher speeds to prevent it from flipping.

  • why are there asian subtitles

  • maybe because it's emited in China? lol

  • The car! T_T

  • I sooooooooooo want these guy's job!!!

  • Too bad; it's MINE!!!!!!

  • Awe, no fair. lol.

  • @sirbarksalot195 it's not always fun

  • i remember seeing this on tv

thought it was going to work so well

  • Epic fail

  • FAIL???

  • @thebrainiak Yep, FAIL.They always do really cool things totally half-arsed. The explosion wasn't their fault. But any of those 'rocket experts' there should have been able to tell them it was a waste of time igniting the rockets so late. The car is clearly not a stable projectile, it needs to build up its speed while its wheels are still on the ground. If the rockets are still going once its air-borne it will just spin round and round, just like their half-arsed rocket chair attempt.

  • yeah, me too.

  • yeah, me 2

  • Yeah, me too.

  • wait, wat?
