a good job your doing working with young people is always a blessing but i am not a big fan of "shout" singing which most black american choirs choose to do, I find it puts too much stress on the voice (and ears)

I'm not sure what you mean about "Shout Singing" What is opera singing called? Belting

If a choiir is taught how to sing with their chest and head voice properly, it won't hurt their voices.

Be open to other styles of singing especially if you are a choir teacher. Music is to broad for anyone

to say there's only one way to perform something. Only closed minded artistic people think like that.

I am sorry my comment offended you, it was not intended to insult. The performance was well delivered and the choir well trained. I happen to train with a young lady who joined a gospel choir and damaged her voice doing this shout singing, and had to rest her voice for a year in hopes of it returning to its natural beauty. I never said i had a problem with gospel singing style i just have a problem with the shouting part. Every criticism is not meant as an attack or insult.
