I agree that the object of all rhetoric is persuasion(aristotle[Rhetoric]­). demello falls into that camp, that he is trying to persuade, but equally there is an old tactic of too of the quasi-intellectuals that says that the light in your heart is a weakness. I do not believe this. I apreciate Demello .would like to know though what are the characteristics of' 'Brainwashers'.

Most Buddhism I hear about in the West is a lifestyle accessory for the middle-class. What is I do see the bigger picture and by seeing it I decide Buddhism is a form of escapism at best and at worse a philosophy that engenders compliance with oppressive regimes.

i've got about 8 hours, recorded from the 'wake up to life' conference in '86. it's basically 'awareness' but needs a lot of editing (plus some nice images as accompaniment). i'm doing it in my spare time so it'll take weeks if not months to get it all posted. so please don't hold your breath.
