I say don't even worry about it. At least Portland is bicycle friendly. I would love to have more bicycle lanes, even ones with Mario symbols on them. No big deal to me. They look kind of nice. And I'm understating this. Atlanta is one of the worst places to be a cyclist. No respect for cyclists in Atlanta metro. It is common for cars to park in bicycle lanes. It is technically NOT legal, but some people don't care either way.
