  • LMAO, I was starting to sweat just watching him and then noticed the sweat drenching the back of his shirt... Oh how I WISH I could work at that pace... With OUT sweating... Still laughing!

  • Wasn't this video supposed to be in the category "music videos", because I didn't see any instruction going on here, never mind any "how to". If anything it was how to waste about 2 and a half minutes of your time while trying to find a video on how to stretch a canvas..

  • Very industrious..... I'm exhausted...

  • your hands must be in so much pain! Buy some canvas stretching pliers dude.

  • ooh, look is bob ross! lmao haha xD

  • Your frame is not strong enough for the size of the canvas and has too few braces. Also, you didn't get it tight enough. Very annoying music and almost no information.

  • That's not stretched. It will end up sagging. Bad music choice.

  • this guy must have a lot of time and i think that he don't need money.but thanks for your work man.

  • Pretty bad!

  • Needs moar cowbell.

  • @scottgvd

    Bahahahahaaaaaaa

  • ....3 days later !!! please don't do this like this guy ! I really dislike

  • Thank you, I haven't stretched a canvas in over a decade, this was a good reminder.

  • the title says how to stretch the perfect canvas but there was no stretching involved, he just stapled it onto the bars.

  • THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME.

    1) Get rid of the stupid music.

    2) Get rid of the fast forward speed.

    3) Take it slow, speak, and show up close how you fold.

    Not helpful one single bit.

  • Hard to believe there was no usage of pliers - essential for large frames like the one he has built.

  • Is the canvas face up???? Seriously.

  • Tips: Get rid of that stupid music. Have the initial parts in close up and in real time, so WE CAN SEE HOW TO DO IT! Then you can fill in the rest with your idiotic time-lapse sequences.

As an "arty" time-lapse this is barely entertaining. As an instructional video, it leaves me wanting to throw myself under a train. Thanks for nothing.

  • Complete crap.

  • he doesnt even use canvas pliers so it'll be flapping about as much as katie prices back door

  • Awesome!!! I completely get it...work towards the sides first.. not boring at all....This is definitely a video for us folks with A.D.D.. We are fast thinkers and we get bored very fast... This guy is a genius for this video... !! Thanks. :)))))

  • why did you even post this... dislike.

  • This is not tight at all.

  • This is not tight.

  • Several problems here. First, the triangles in the corners will prevent future "keying out" to tighten the canvas. Second, no canvas pliers were used, therefore the canvas is very likely not properly taut. Thirdly, a stretcher of this size needs crossbars in both directions, not just one. Oh well, i've seen worse on youtube...

  • Just wanna say "your missing the point of giving us step by step instruction"

    But totally .....taught me ideas^^

Hey^^ just change the title to "Idea on how to stretch a canvas (perfect canvas if you prefer)

    tnx^^

    EYE

  • great video! not boring like the others!!!

  • ya but how do you make the wood part??? i like it thick not that chinsy crap u buy at the art store.........that fit together!!!

  • Wow. This is such a cool video. I really enjoyed watch it. Great job and hope to see more cool video work like this. Hey you should check out art4love.com i think you would really enjoy it and the canvas art and wall art.

  • This was great . . . and fast. I figured out how you folded the corners by looking at two I had done . Thanks a bunch

  • this is so stupid! what is he doing? flip from one side to the next a lot of times?

sorry but dont show it to the people!!!!!

  • The most stupid instructional video I have ever seen. Pathetic. No one can see how to he folds the corners which is the most important part of stretching a canvas.

    Tony.

  • @tonyabe i agree. useless piece of crap

  • great video, just wish we could see how you do the corners "up close"

    Thanks, though!

  • These videos are great. I've been paying others to do this all along.

  • thank you very much for this video it will help me out alot in my artwork. thanks

  • this is the most helpful canvas stretching video EVER

  • youre basically right, but you forget ONE important thing : YOUR CANVAS WILL NOT BE STRETCHED....You forgot to use two grips, to stretch the canvas on the stretcher. a good canvas is stretched till it feels like the surface of a drumm...your canvas will be hanging in the stretcher.

  • that all depends on how weak you are/what type of canvas you're using. this looks to be unprimed, so he doesn't really need a grip. the grip is just a substitute for your hand, so if you're capable of pulling it tight enough yourself, it will be fine.

I make plenty of canvases this way and after years they are still as tight as a drum!

  • thanks!

  • Sweet. Thanks.

  • hey is this your own music?

  • doesnt seem strum that tight

  • You need a staple gun. <3
