Primo Victoria, is indeed Latin and not an operation name (as far as I know) it means First Victory. The song is clearly about Operation Overlord (D-Day invastion)
agreed, although the suffering of the soldiers of the great war mut not be forgotten either, their living conditions were the lowest we've expected our troops to endure in modern times.
Quite honestly, those who live in America think of Operation Overlord (D-Day) as a victory (although military-wise it was), but it was actually a total loss. It was a loss for the Germans of course, but it was also a loss to the Americans and their family members who did in fact "Give their today for our tomorrow." Either way, no matter how you look at it, it was a loss on both sides. And please don't give me any garbage comments; I'm speaking my mind and my opinion and don't need to here it.
so the US had 2 beaches, the british had 2 beaches and who had the other part of normandy the canadains thats right for everyone who says canada is weak cuz remeber if canada was so weak how come manifest destiny didnt work ya hosers

Heil Hitler. Does anyone really think we are better of in 'democratic Britain'. Let's be honest, like Orwell said: 'some are more equal than others'. The immigrant is far more 'equal' than the white male.
thank god, we people of Finland hit that "liberation" back...concequences of "liberation" can see today in baltic countries, their living level cant compare to situation of finland...
Hehe :) YOu will see what your capitalism brings you soon. The balts had better living standards under communism than the poor american has today 20 years after.
Is it because of that SVT (Swedish Television) did a segment on Estonians digging through carbage lately when they recived capitalism?
That never existed under communism...After Stalin fucked up once and killed a bunch of people in his "Great Plan" there was never starvation, never homeless people, always a job.
so relativity..everyone who has been in tallin in 1980 could see with own eyes how totaly poor people were...i wasnt there because im 24 ,but example my dad and many others are witness that time in soviet system was poor...
You had healthcare, you had a job, you had a free education and in most countries free vacations to.
Soviet Union was sadly being run by dictators instead of the people as it was intended. But it was turning better in the 1980's. It would have been alot better, alot free but with the same perks.
Now instead corporations control you and the poorest in your country have nowhere to go.
Soon it will be like in Amerika where you have to pay to go to college. Alot.
The biggest one ever. And yes it was completely volountary.
The Russian communist party under Gorbatchev was couped. The people quite liked Gorbatchev...he was moving the USSR into the direction of democratic communism (finally after all those years with semi dictatorship). And then the filthy Jeltsin couped him and bombarded the parliament with tanks.
And popular upprisings..just look today. Biggest demonstrations...Continue
Biggest demonstrations ever in the world are held against the IRAQ war... BIGGEST IN THE WORLD. But the government of UK and US doesn't listen. Democracy? Pfft.
And in this illusion of democracy we have also lost our right to a house, a job and in the US even education and healthcare costs money.
And pitty that people write "Thumbs down" for my texts. I just write the truth, if you don't like the truth then that's your problem.
Completely voluntary means not that much in a total police state (Stasi).
Popular uprising against a war is something else than an uprising against the oppression of your own totalitarian gouvernment.
Gorbachev indeed initiated reforms. In most soviet republics this meant that protests were not beaten down that much any more, and this has helped their independence. The soviet union was not utopia. Not at all. If you want to live under communist rule, go to cuba. Or the PRC. You'll be suprised..
Yeah I know, the reply option is fucked. Don't know what it is.
I'm planning to go to Cuba.
It does seem as a semi-paradise, or at least could be without all the criminal sanctions that make the government look bad. The problem is that Cuba is still very unfree and controlled. But from a economic and social point of view it is near perfect. Just look at how that poor little nations manages to take care of its people better than the US. Especially during Huricanes.
The PRC on the other hand is similiar to a stalinist dystopia though a bit better ofcourse. It is extremely unfree, it has no real social and economic structure, the people are controlled in many things, the leaders are not admired but respected (difference). Also the country has some sick fascist tendencies where the government steps into private enterprise and makes it into something completely different. Not socialist, not free.
There you have the disadvantage of pure communism. People struggle for the power, and without any checks of law, soon a dictatorial gouvernment will arise. However, the current democracies have arranged many of the things the socialists of the past have fought and died for (minimum wages, money for the poor), while maintaining a good economy, something the communist gouvernments usually fail to do. Cuba is less oppressive then the PRC, but both are much less free than the western democracies.
Hah,you want to say that the British and the US are not such tyrans as Stalin ? In this case you know nothing about real hisory, the modern history is written by the victory countries in WW2 its not real ! Just search somewhere and find some trues about the US and the British goverment how cruel they are i do nots say that Stalin was a good man,bur he was effective as the ohter leaders of the great powers but such power always is made by tirany, the tirany has many faces, not only communism !
Have to admit, the historical evidence is clearly against claim in favour of the russians (and remind me who signed a pact with Nazi Germany re the invasion of Poland, the Soviet Union) and they certianly did replace one tryanny with another, the eastern block was not liberated but forced to linger in Hell for a further forty + years (Gulags spring to mind) Stalinism was as brutal as the Nazi's and follow on regimes within the Soviet Union were also exceptionally repressive and cruel.
Very true, at Stalingrad'43 the Red Army made the greatest sacrifice to end Germans greed for superiority. Besides, several times before the war even broke out at its worst Soviet suggested a co-operation with the European imperial countries to avoid Germany's plans to sodomize the continent, these however kept giving the cold hand and waited until the germans were practically defeated by Soviet before they stepped in as "heroes". Besides all the imperial countries were responsible for the war.
@PROstrelqn you obviously have no idea what you're saying you're probably drunk on vodka right now, all russia did was take over berlin THE US AND UK fought in the west and east and wtf you mean boy russia liberating europe??!! and you're putting out all the other nations who fought in ww2 and russia got there ass kicked for a long time you piece of shit, and don't forgot who got a ass kicking royal in the russian afghan war.... But dammit, I laughed my ass off because at about 1:30 or so they show this guy in the middle of one of the boats, and his face... XD He's all like "Hmmm, what's going on here? I wonder what's for lunch."
You did such an excellent job on this video why don't you get some footage of WW I and put it to the Sabaton song "Angels are Calling". It is obviously about WW I. I have no talent or I would try.
