  • People are so beautiful.

  • I fail to understand why this show is considered anymore phony than sitcoms today. I mean I'd argue that the dialogue and interactions are more authentic than sitcoms today. Who has snarky ass kids like sitcoms today do? I think people made such a big deal over this sitcom, but I fail to see how showing some teen smoke pot=realistic! Actual drug use is much more horrifying than "I was tempted to drink/smoke pot." I'm more insulted by that pathetic representation than not even covering the topic

  • watching this from school we are doing work in this show...

  • Excellent show

  • Does anyone eat together anymore? When I was little all the way up through my teenage years, our family ate together like that. We eat at the same time usually every day, but only manage to eat maybe three meals a week with each other, I think it's sad. For us and for all these children growing up without the pleasure of eating with a Father , Mother and brothers and sisters.

  • I wish traditional roles existed today

  • Beautiful, wonderful...hard to believe it was so long ago. I was a kid growing up in the 1950s and watched this TV series all the time and loved it. Like Ozzie & Harriet, Leave It To Beaver, and the Donna Reed Show, it showed us not a real family, of course, but the model for what a real family could be like if they all loved each other and worked together to make this a better America.

  • tabachoy123- if it was you requesting that we leave the politics out I will comply.

    Thanks for the video.

  • @virago1776 Thanks :)

  • @bjoh249 Radical, pseudo liberalism.

I left a comment on your channel explaining that I am a true, old fashioned liberal myself.

The term has been hijacked by phony liberals.

I have conservative friends who are more liberal than they.

  • god bless the american family.

  • Born in 1950. I saw all these great old shows. My favorite was still The Mickey Mouse Club..would tear home to see it. I was in love with Spin and Marty haha.

    Those sure were simpler days.

  • wow - we need to have these family values back. Why can't siblings treat each other like this in real life?

Being born in the 1990s, this is a breath of fresh air.

  • I have five grandchildren and they fight amongst themselves sometimes as children are wont to do.

But let an outsider attack one of them and there will be hell to pay.

If one of them gets sick the others are there to take care of the sick one.

This series of course was filmed before radical feminism declared the family to be evil.

It was filmed before family became such a fragmented concept.

It was filmed during a time when family was well defined.

Thank the "liberals" for the loss.

  • @caohanlu

Because these values never actually existed.

  • @mmmmmvodka

    Why do you think that?

  • @mmmmmvodka guess you went around then, because our family had values like these.

  • @mmmmmvodka Sorry you missed it, (I did in my real family as well), but they did exist.

I was actually shocked in my late twenties to discover it.

  • @caohanlu What the hell brought you to this show?

  • This is fantastic!

I just love Robert Young and the rest of the gang. I wish these were being played in RTV.

    Thanks for posting.

  • From the first season episode "Thanksgiving Day" [November 21, 1954]. Two famous still photos of the cast were taken after the "blessing" sequence was filmed...

  • Why can't America be as humble and greatful today as they were back then? It seemed like that era was such a simple and innocent time in our history.

  • Wonderful to be able to see these videos. Our family still sits down at the table and thanks God for our blessings. We as Americans can still be very thankful. We can stand up for God, it begins with each one of us. I wish television was still so pure!!

  • The family that prays together stays together. What a touching video, especially the prayer at the end. Never miss a chance to tell your loved-ones how much you love them.

  • Ah the memories. this is real television

  • How precious are the memories when families actually sat down together and were not ashamed to thank God for the blessings we have in this free land. Cherish your family and times like Thanksgiving.

  • Family values.....so WONDERUFL! To all that view this video. Celebrate your mom and dad. When they are no longer with you , no matter what differences you have, once they are gone your heart will ache!

  • I first saw this in the 1960s in rerun when I was quite a little boy -- and the memory of it has stuck with me for years. Thanksgiving can easily get lost amid all the TV parades, sports, trappings and feasting. And yet in this great Thanksgiving episode, the Anderson family have hamburgers and each other for each other. Thanx for posting.
