hey im swimming for a pararescue school in the usaf and i have to swim a 50 one thing this navy seal told me is relax.before u go take 3 huge deep relaxed breaths. then dont try to be too fast take a big stoke and let it glide out and try to use as little muscle as possible then wen ur gettin too slow one more big stroke the point is to stay as relaxed as possible so u can save oxygen for the 50 meter
You need to work on gliding in the water longer. Slow it down some and do not take another stroke until you feel yourself about to stop this will help you use less oxygen while swimming underwater.
yea i really have problems with that. it seems easier for me on the 25 to just rush through it. but i can see how its going to be important to slow it down for the 50 meter
I had the same problem. My swim coach helped me with this. Swim it kinda like you would swim breaststroke and take a stroke every 2 to 3 seconds count between strokes it helps a lot. Just remember there is no time limit for the 50 underwater so you can take as much time as you need.
thats correct! you do get a giant stride entry for the 50 meter underwater swim which is your last EVAL. but keep in mind that there might be times when theyre gonna make you do 25 meters without pushing off the wall therefor practice it..

yea i really have problems with that. it seems easier for me on the 25 to just rush through it. but i can see how its going to be important to slow it down for the 50 meter

congrats! keep doing that until your able to do 50 meters. keep in mind that in indoc training you wont be able to push of the walls.
