I can't believe how amazingly she has pulled through from the experiences she had in the gun club. I love Jeffrey Lee Pierce, but at the time when Patricia was playing with the gun club, Jeffrey was so wrapped up with romanticising himself as a tortured blues-man. He got so lost in his aesthetic of being a drug-abuser which is such a depressing thing to aspire to be.

I did my first sorta-big support act opening for The Gun Club... being pretty nervous. I mean, Patricia and Kid Congo live in person right there, and of course the fearsome Jeffrey Lee Pierce...

It was at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, and after we had played Patricia comes up to me and says 'that's a cool bass guitar you have..." and before I know it we're talking Rickenbackers, in their dressing room, JLP asleep in a corner, and Patricia being completely down-to-earth, really nice. Memories...

For about 6 yrs or so, I was under the impression that Patricia Morrison had died, until someone on youtube set me straight. That is a pretty big relief seeing as how I have always been huge into the sisters of mercy and all. Also, I've witnessed zero interviews with just her until now, and didn't know she wasn't British, not too big of a surprise I guess. She is interesting and aged very, very well indeed. I saw her play guitar at one their Damned shows in Dallas a ways back, very good time.
