At first, I thought so but then I saw earlier footage of her son and it doesnt seem to be the same person but people change theres a pic in the gallery of both of them under personal>family life - take your conclusions.
Spirit of the Arts -- Kiri Te Kanawa -- A Passion for Life was the first video added to my Favorites when I first joined YOUTUBE. I am very grateful to my new friend thecelticinme for sharing this insightful documentary on the life Dame Kiri Te Kanawa with her devotees across the pond. This unique program has allowed the viewer to see Dame Kiri's multi faceted life and as an added bonus it is presented in her own inimitable words, beautiful songs and of course that lovely accent.
WOW! thanks so much for posting this. Shes my favorite Sop of all time and I think shes just as beautiful a person as she is a singer! This made my week watching this! Thanks so much! Dame Kiri is the class of Opera!
At least one part of this was filmed in October 2005. I was there when the O Mio was filmed in Iceland and that was probably when the fishing was also filmed. The camera was just to the right of me and I wondered why they were filming...
I was so inspired by her inner strength and determination to go against all odds in life. She's brought about more healing by her voice than she realizes. She's lovely!
Oh I forgot something : I will never forget the day I saw her in concert for the first time, I still can't believe that she came to my country. In some way this was possible thanks to you, because thanks to you, I fell in love with Kiri's voice.
I saw her at the MET in 1997(it was my birthday present) doing the Countess Almaviva! Isnt she great! Truly a hypnotic, addicting voice. Once you hear it, you cant get enough! I fell in love in 1981 (like most others) and it is has been a passion ever since!
Thanks my dear friend. It was very interesting to watch this documentary. I think Kiri is a very sweet and nice woman but she also has a strong character. I love her voice, she's my favorite soprano of the XXI century. Her adoptive parents were so lucky and so was she to have them. I liked so much seeing those pictures of her when she was a little girl. She was already so cute and now she looks more than fantastic. Thank you.
Another triumph! Thanks for posting. I am sending some really angry e-mail to the BBC to tell them to put these kind of programs on BBC America. We just dont get this here! Thanks again!
